Engineering Technician

Rivan Industries is a pioneering synthetic fuel company focused on decarbonizing heavy industry. Our mission is to make synthetic fuel more affordable than fossil fuels, thereby sustaining life on earth by keeping CO2 locked underground. We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants, which include a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, and integrate these with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid.

The role: As an Engineering Technician at Rivan, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and executing tests to validate engineering assumptions across various systems including fluids, thermals, and electrical systems. This role requires proficiency in plumbing, wiring, fabrication (welding, etc.), machining, and mechanic work. You will work directly from engineering drawings, focusing on tolerances and often starting from high-level design descriptions like sketches or CAD models. Your responsibility will also include maintaining our workshop, ensuring all tooling is clean, tidy, and ready to use, and maintaining our range of heavy machinery.

Job requirements: We are looking for someone with 4-5 years of professional experience in a relevant environment such as a workshop, factory, or laboratory. An engineering degree or background, such as an apprenticeship, is required. We value candidates who have personal projects or hands-on experience in project builds.

Benefits: The position offers a salary of £50-60k, depending on experience, and requires in-person work at our headquarters in Bermondsey, South London. We provide extensive relocation support, including an additional £6000 per year to live close to our HQ, and offer unlimited time-off.
