Rivan Industries is a pioneering synthetic fuel company focused on decarbonizing heavy industry. Our mission is to make synthetic fuel more affordable than fossil fuels, thereby sustaining life on Earth by keeping CO2 locked underground. We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants that include a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor. We also integrate these systems with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid. Recently, we deployed the UK's largest synthetic fuel plant and have plans to significantly scale up our operations within the next two years.

The role: As a Junior Controls & Commissioning Engineer at Rivan Industries, you will be responsible for the vital step of connecting our hardware to our power systems and controls to activate them. Your tasks will include selecting, installing, configuring, and debugging sensors and actuators for DAC/Electrolyser/Reactor pilots. You will also design and build evaluation/test rigs, integrate and commission electrical & controls cabinets, and plan and execute FAT/SAT, I/O/loop checks, and start-up support. Additionally, you will produce clear wiring schedules, test reports, and change logs, and work closely with process, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams to quickly resolve field issues.

Job requirements: Core skills required include industrial control & comms fundamentals, knowledge of 4–20 mA / 0–10 V analogue signalling, Modbus (RTU/TCP), CAN bus, OPC UA, TCP/IP, RS-485, understanding of electrical noise sources, effects, and mitigation methods, and the ability to read, analyse, and implement schematics, wiring, and network topologies. Basic PLC/HMI troubleshooting skills are also essential.

Benefits: The position offers a competitive salary of £40-50k, depending on experience, significant share options as part of the early team, in-person work at our HQ in Bermondsey, South London, extensive relocation support including an additional £6000 per year to live close to our HQ, and unlimited time off.
