Rivan Industries is a pioneering synthetic fuel company focused on decarbonizing heavy industry. Our mission is to make synthetic fuel more affordable than fossil fuels, thereby sustaining life on Earth by keeping CO₂ locked underground. We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants that include a lime-based Direct Air Capture (DAC) system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, all integrated with off-grid DC solar and the European gas grid.

The role: As a Senior Process Engineer at Rivan Industries, you will be involved in the end-to-end design of one of the most innovative process systems on Earth. This includes system architecture selection and process modeling for a cyclic lime-based DAC process. You will design and optimize unit operations across the full CaCO₃ -> CaO -> Ca(OH)₂ -> CaCO₃ loop, including calcination systems, carbonation contactors, hydrators, dryers, and associated solids-handling equipment. Your responsibilities will also cover the full system scope, ideating novel reactor architectures, and ensuring intelligent, inherently safe designs.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of professional experience and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Experience in designing and building plants, particularly those featuring solids, and strong experience with solid-handling and high-temperature processes are essential. Additional skills in process plant design, commissioning, operation, and various specialized engineering experiences such as HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA leadership are highly valued.

Benefits: Rivan Industries offers a competitive salary range of £70,000 to £100,000, depending on experience, with significant share options as part of the early team. We provide extensive relocation support, including an additional £6,000 per year to live near our HQ, and offer unlimited time-off. Our work environment emphasizes minimal bureaucracy and expects complete ownership and first-principles reasoning from our team.

Interested candidates should apply directly through our website to become a part of a small, dynamic team that thrives on innovation and speed.
