Solar Planning Officer (Spain)

Rivan Industries is a pioneering synthetic fuel company focused on decarbonising heavy industry. Our mission is to make synthetic fuel more affordable than fossil fuels, thereby sustaining life on Earth by keeping CO2 locked underground. We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants that include a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor. We are also vertically integrated with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid.

The role: As a Solar Planning Officer based in Spain, you will lead our solar efforts and play a crucial role in the development of the world's largest synthetic fuel plant. This ambitious project will feature almost 1GW of solar power, producing over 500GWh of synthetic natural gas annually, which will be distributed across Europe to help decarbonise sectors that are difficult to electrify. Your responsibilities will include securing land rights and permits, overseeing early-stage planning such as feasibility studies and EIA screenings, preparing and submitting AAI applications, and managing stakeholder engagement across various levels of government and with local communities.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have 7-10+ years of professional experience, specifically with the AAI permitting process in Aragón. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field is required.

Benefits: The position offers a competitive salary range of £80,000 to £100,000, depending on experience, along with significant share options as part of the early team. The role allows for both remote and in-person work from London and Spain.
