Newton is one of the UK's leading consulting firms, known for a data-driven, results-focused approach and a distinctive commercial model: our fees are contingent on delivering agreed outcomes.

As Newton expands into Australia, this is a unique opportunity to join at a pivotal stage of growth. You'll work alongside talented people from diverse backgrounds, tackling complex challenges across the Public and Defence & Infrastructure sectors, and going as deep as it takes to make a real impact for our clients.

As a Consultant, you'll build the fundamentals of consulting and the Newton methodology – working hand-in-hand with clients to analyse data, identify opportunities, and support the delivery of workstreams under the guidance of more senior team members.

The role

The role is incredibly varied but would typically cover, but not be limited to:

  • Working within a small team of consultants, analysing data and mapping processes to identify opportunities for operational improvement
  • Supporting the design and delivery of a workstream, under the guidance of senior colleagues, ensuring alignment to client outcomes and programme goals
  • Working on site in different Australia locations, day to day with client counterparts to review progress, problem-solve and support performance improvement, while building lasting client capability.
  • Supporting the creation of clear, compelling and data-driven stories for stakeholders - from frontline managers through to team leads - and helping remove blockers to progress
  • Supporting delivery and resourcing plans in collaboration with senior team members to keep workstreams on track
  • Identifying opportunities for future work within your client area

Requirements

  • Experience in consulting or an adjacent industry
  • First Class Honours or equivalent, such as a GPA of 6.0/7.0 or WAM of 80+,or equivalent demonstrated capability/experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving capability, with an appetite to get stuck into complex challenges and deliver above expectation
  • Drive and resilience, with the ambition to pursue excellence and develop rapidly
  • Curiosity, with a genuine interest in new ideas and possibilities
  • Empathy and self-awareness, with the ability to give and receive feedback with care and consideration
  • Strong people skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and present them in a compelling way
  • Agility and adaptability, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and willing to work away from home, including international assignments where required
  • Based in Sydney with flexibility to travel to client sites

Benefits

You'll have a dedicated and consistent Sponsor/Development Manager to support your career progression with promotions at Newton happening throughout the year and based on performance and readiness to perform and succeed at the next level. You'll receive regular appraisals and annual pay reviews.
