Freelance Video Production, Editing and Motion Design Specialists

We're interested in hearing from freelancers with different areas of expertise, including video production, video editing and motion graphics. Assignments will vary in scope and complexity, from filming interviews and events through to editing campaign videos and creating original motion graphics.

We'll match work to your skills and experience. This could include short pieces of work, larger projects or ongoing support, depending on business need.

This is a remote opportunity, although some assignments will require travel to filming locations across England. We work with freelancers on an ad hoc basis, with assignments agreed as and when required.

Scope of work

Depending on the assignment, freelancers may be asked to deliver outcomes such as:

• Planning and filming interviews, case studies and other location-based video content.
• Capturing high-quality footage, audio and lighting suitable for professional editing.
• Producing marketing and campaign videos for a range of audiences and channels.
• Filming events and capturing documentary-style footage and B-roll.
• Editing video content into polished, platform-ready outputs.
• Building compelling visual narratives using supplied or self-shot footage.
• Incorporating graphics, captions, music and sound design into edited videos.
• Creating motion graphics, animated explainers and title sequences.
• Developing more complex motion design concepts and animations for campaigns.
• Working from creative briefs while ensuring consistency with Oak's brand and visual identity.
• Delivering high-quality outputs within agreed timescales.

Experience and expertise

We're interested in hearing from freelancers who specialise in one or more of the areas stated and can demonstrate some or all of the following:

• Professional experience in video production, editing or motion graphics.
• The ability to interpret a creative brief and produce engaging visual content.
• Strong storytelling skills and an understanding of how to communicate ideas through video.
• Experience using professional production or editing software (for example Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects or equivalent).
• Excellent attention to detail and high production standards.
• The ability to manage projects independently and deliver to agreed deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to incorporate feedback effectively.

For filming assignments, we're particularly interested in freelancers who can demonstrate:

• Experience planning and leading location shoots.
• Confidence directing contributors and interviewees.
• Strong technical understanding of camera operation, lighting and audio capture.
• Access to professional filming equipment (this will not be supplied by Oak).

For more advanced editing and motion graphics commissions, we're particularly interested in freelancers who can demonstrate:

• Strong creative editing skills and narrative judgement.
• Experience creating original motion graphics and animation.
• Confidence developing visual concepts and storyboards.
• Advanced understanding of pacing, rhythm and visual storytelling.

Rates

Assignments will be offered at one of the following indicative rates, depending on the nature and complexity of the work:

• Senior Video Editor – £41 per hour
• Editing narrative-driven video content
• Producing polished, platform-ready outputs
• Incorporating graphics, captions, music and sound design
• Video Producer – £45 per hour
• Planning and filming interviews, case studies, marketing campaign videos and events
• Directing contributors and managing location shoots
• Capturing high-quality brand-driven footage, audio and lighting
• Motion Graphics Designer – £37 per hour
• Creating animated social media assets and explainers
• Producing title sequences and animated infographics
• Applying and adapting existing brand assets through animation
• Senior Motion Graphics Designer – approximately £54 per hour
• Developing creative motion concepts and storyboards
• Producing complex motion graphics and campaign animations
• Creating reusable animation systems and high-end visual content

The rate for each assignment will be agreed before work begins and will reflect the scope, complexity and level of expertise required.

Ways of working

Please note: By applying, you're expressing interest in joining Oak's pool of freelance graphic designers. Joining the pool does not guarantee that work will be offered, and each engagement will be agreed separately.

This engagement is offered on a self-employed basis. The appointed freelancer will have autonomy over how the work is delivered, working to agreed outcomes and timelines.

They will not be subject to traditional line management but will liaise with a named Oak contact to ensure alignment, share progress, and agree priorities across the engagement period.
