Head of Corporate Events

Sharky + George’s Corporate Team specialises in crafting creative, high-impact experiences for businesses and their people. We split our time between children’s and adults’ events, creating everything from seasonal Bring-Your-Child-to-Work days, summer family festivals and bespoke company holiday camps, to corporate away days, international off-sites, immersive experiences and large-scale celebrations.

Every event is unique, but the goal is always the same: to bring people together through the power of play. The Corporate Team is a fast-growing part of the business, combining creativity and imagination with strong commercial thinking. We are looking for someone who can lead the team, drive growth and ensure we continue delivering exceptional experiences for our clients.

This role is full-time and based predominantly from our London office, with some flexibility for home working. Here’s an overview of the responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the Corporate Team and events, managing 4x team members and overseeing event delivery, client relationships, team performance and departmental growth.
• Own the corporate strategy, helping to shape the future direction of the department and identifying opportunities for growth.
• Deliver departmental revenue and margin targets, ensuring the team continues to grow commercially while maintaining the quality and creativity S+G is known for.
• Own the corporate pipeline, forecasting and conversion performance, working closely with the wider leadership team to track performance and opportunities.
• Act as the senior point of contact for high-value and complex corporate events, building long-term trusted relationships with clients.
• Lead pitches, proposals and presentations, working closely with the Creative Team to bring bespoke client briefs to life.
• Drive new business through outreach, networking, partnerships and senior relationship building.
• Oversee the successful delivery of corporate events from initial brief through to execution, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency across every project.
• Support and develop the Corporate Team through managing, mentoring and creating opportunities for progression.
• Embed a strong commercial mindset across the department, encouraging the team to balance creativity with profitability.
• Work collaboratively with Operations, Creative and Marketing teams to deliver outstanding events and support wider company growth.
• Continue to build and strengthen Sharky + George’s reputation within the corporate events market.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Significant experience in events, ideally within an agency or experiential events environment, ideally 5 years +
• Proven experience leading and developing a team.
• Strong commercial understanding, with experience managing revenue targets, budgets, margins and forecasting.
• A track record of building strong client relationships and winning new business.
• Experience leading pitches and proposals for large-scale or complex opportunities.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple events and priorities at once.
• A natural leader who can motivate, inspire and support a team to achieve their best work.
• Creative thinker with the ability to translate client objectives into exciting and memorable experiences.
• Meticulously organised, proactive and forward-thinking.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
• Calm and confident under pressure, with the ability to problem solve and make decisions quickly.
• A ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
• Passionate about events, creativity and the power of play.
