POSITION: Risk and Compliance Manager LOCATION: We will only consider candidates legally authorized to work in Côte d'Ivoire . Project: An industry-led initiative implementing programs dedicated to farmers and communities at scale with the objective of strengthening the resilience of the cocoa supply chain in Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana. Role of RA: Supporting the launch of the operations in Côte d'Ivoire by establishing and managing a team to ensure effective delivery, coordination, and monitoring of all activities on the field including agronomy services. POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for a collaborative and organized Risk and Compliance Manager responsible for risk identification and mitigation. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and cross-workstream integration across a program in Côte d'Ivoire. The Risk and Compliance Manager will align all workstreams, rapidly addressing bottlenecks, and keep delivery consistent, and impact driven as the program scales. You will focus on proactive and reactive reputation management and developing targeted solutions, strategies, and processes for supporting the structural, long-term health of the program and its mission. You will build and maintain a risk management strategy and the associated risk register to support a consistent approach across partners and workstreams to identify and track risk in a unified way and managed in a timely manner. The Risk and Compliance Manager will be the primary contact for all reputational risks and issues that may have an adverse effect on the public perception of the Rainforest Alliance and our external stakeholders. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to gather, analyse, and address all program risks. This includes proposing and implementing mitigation measures. You will also develop clear communications strategies to ensure all risks are adequately addressed throughout the life of the program. You will work with both the Rainforest Alliance Communications, Reputational Risk and Compliance teams to ensure programmatic alignment with the Rainforest Alliance Strategy and Mission. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Risk Management Develop a risk management framework and risk register, with a particular focus on access for vulnerable groups and confidential reporting mechanisms; Gather input and data to evolve the framework, and to accurately and efficiently address new challenges; Ensure that all internal teams, partners and stakeholders are trained on and aligned with the approach and clearly understand their role in reporting risks and mitigation measures; Gather and analyse all risks based on data gathering and deep collaboration across cross-functional teams, partners and program stakeholders, including national government; Monitor and follow-up on activities related to risk response by maintaining active connection with relevant internal/external stakeholders and disseminating timely communication to affected stakeholders; Manage end-to-end rapid response for all reputational risks by mobilizing relevant staff and cross-functional teams to ascertain risk level; Develop communication response plans, drawing relevant insights from our programmatic response to multiple environmental and social issues pervasive in the environmental sustainability space; Provide ongoing training programs for the local teams and partners; Strategy Development Oversee adherence to internal and programmatic policies and due-diligence procedures to better mitigate against potential risks including those related to misinformation, partner communication, and human-rights related topics, focusing on cross collaboration across channels. Setup a program task force to review risks and mitigation actions; Participate in internal committees to develop action plans to address ongoing issues and challenges; Bring together relevant staff and external stakeholders to proactively address reputational risks; Develop regular reports to update senior leadership on current reputational challenges and to highlight new risks which may have a negative impact on the reputation of the program and that of the Rainforest Alliance globally. WHAT YOU BRING: Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field; Five years of experience in risk management, communications, or environmental sustainability; Experience in the development and delivery of effective crisis management plans; Experience in sustainable agriculture certification, international development; Working knowledge of agricultural supply chains; Working knowledge environmental and social issues including human rights, climate change, deforestation, and corporate responsibility; Written and verbal communication proficiency in English and French ; Ability to travel minimum of 20% per year, nationally and internationally.
