Project: An industry-led initiative implementing programs dedicated to farmers and communities at scale with the objective of strengthening the resilience of the cocoa supply chain in Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana.
Role of RA: Supporting the launch of the operations in Côte d'Ivoire by establishing and managing a team to ensure effective delivery, coordination, and monitoring of all activities on the field including agronomy services.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Rainforest Alliance leads global monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) initiatives to support effective program implementation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making across multiple countries and partnerships. These efforts focus on strengthening data systems, ensuring high-quality evidence generation, and supporting teams with relevant insights to improve program performance and outcomes. We are looking for a Team Lead, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) to support the implementation and daily management of MEL activities. You will focus on operational delivery, coordination, and execution of MEL processes, working closely with internal teams, field staff, and external partners to ensure high-quality data collection, analysis, and reporting.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: - MEL Implementation and Operations - Coordinate daily creation of MEL workplans and timelines, tracking progress and supporting delivery of outputs; - Help implement MEL activities, including planning, coordination, data collection, and reporting, ensuring agreement on project and organizational requirements; - Help organize and implement field data collection activities, including enumerator coordination, survey rollout, and troubleshooting operational challenges; - Ensure adherence to established data collection protocols and quality standards; - Support data cleaning, validation, and preparation processes in collaboration with data teams; - Contribute to the preparation of regular MEL reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders; - Maintain organized documentation of MEL processes, tools, and outputs.
- Coordination and Stakeholder Support - Coordinate with our teams (e.g., data, technical experts, finance, regional teams) to support smooth execution of MEL activities; - Collaborate with external partners, consultants, and service providers to ensure agreement on data collection processes and timelines; - Support communication and follow-up with stakeholders to ensure inputs and feedback; - Provide operational support for meetings, workshops, and dissemination activities related to MEL findings.
- MEL Technical Support - Support the design and refinement of MEL tools, surveys, and indicators; - Help implement data analysis under the guidance of senior team members, contributing to identification of trends and important findings; - Compile and contextualize data using available secondary sources and internal documentation; - Ensure application of standard methodologies and help maintain consistency across projects and geographies; - Apply best practices in data quality assurance and documentation throughout MEL processes.
WHAT YOU BRING: - Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, agriculture, economics, data science, social sciences, or related); - Minimum 3–5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, or program implementation; - Organizational and project coordination experience; - Experience supporting data collection processes and working with field teams or enumerators; - Experience working in multi-country or cross-cultural environments; - Ability to travel minimum of 30% per year, nationally and internationally; - Familiarity with data tools and software. Fluency in English and French;
