Role Summary

Role Requirements
- Fluency in English, written and spoken.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience, ideally in programs or grants-focused role.
- Experience with due diligence or compliance documentation and grant-making policies.
- Experience in the humanitarian sector, ideally with displaced people.
- Permission to work in the U.S and ability to travel 10-20% of the time.

SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Programs and Operations Manager carries a portfolio of grants and partner relationships from due diligence through final reporting, and provides administrative and financial support to the operations of Choose Love, Inc.
The role requires flexibility. You will respond to humanitarian crises in line with our emergency protocols while also supporting the transition of those responses into longer-term protracted programs work. You will identify problems across project implementation, mitigate programmatic risk, and resolve issues promptly.
RESPONSIBILITIES GRANT MANAGEMENT AND PARTNER ENGAGEMENT Manage the full grant cycle for an assigned portfolio: due diligence, agreements and addenda, payment processing, records, and reporting deadlines Review and provide feedback on partner narrative and financial reports Manage ongoing relationships with new and existing partners through regular calls and site visits; track takeaways and action items for internal circulation Connect partners to one another where appropriate, and join monitoring trips as needed Conduct funding needs assessments for emergency responses and ongoing portfolios QUALITY ASSURANCE AND RISK Triage grant issues before escalating to the Director and General Counsel Apply working knowledge of requirements for maintaining active charitable status, including how to search and interpret the relevant databases and filings Provide due diligence support to Choose Love (UK); escalate identified risks to the Programmes SLT and Risk and Assurance colleagues COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT Brief the wider organization on partner activities and grants, including through presentations on team calls Summarize country and regional contexts for the Communications team, donor proposals and external stakeholders Conduct weekly media monitoring of partner work and share usable content with the Communications team; advise partners on content gathering in line with Choose Love’s storytelling approach Support the Donor Development and Impact Team with information for proposals and donor reports CHOOSE LOVE, INC. OPERATIONS (WITH SUPPORT FROM THE DIRECTOR AND GENERAL COUNSEL) Provide financial administrative support Manage federal and state registration compliance Respond to information requests concerning Choose Love, Inc. Facilitate team meetings, including agendas and minutes ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Fluency in English, written and spoken A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience, ideally in a programs or grants-focused role Experience with due diligence or compliance documentation and policies relevant to grant-making Experience in the humanitarian sector, ideally with displaced people Have permission to work in the U.S Ability to travel 10-20% of the time
DESIRABLE SKILLS
Fluency in Spanish Fluency in additional languages (e.g. Arabic, French, Greek) Experience in monitoring & evaluation, familiarity with impact and data Experience working overseas or in countries where programs are being delivered, demonstrating understanding of local contexts and effective cross-cultural collaboration.
