Join Get Further as our **Finance and Operations Officer** and play a vital role in keeping our charity running smoothly behind the scenes! In this **varied and fast-paced role**, you’ll be the go-to person for financial, HR and IT queries, supporting teams across the organisation.** You’ll gain valuable experience** in charity operations, develop your skills, and help drive improvements in how we work.

📍**Location:** London/Hybrid working. For staff based in London, there are 2 core days per week at our London Office. For staff outside of London, there is more flexibility (with all staff expected to travel to the office at least once per month).

⏳**Hours:** Full-time (37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday). We can discuss flexible working patterns, e.g., school hours, as needed.

💰**Salary:** London salary £32,000 per annum, (including £2k London weighting)

📅**Contract:** Permanent Contract

**About the role**

In this varied and fast-paced role, you’ll be the go-to person for financial, HR and IT queries, supporting teams across the organisation. You’ll gain valuable experience in charity operations, develop your skills, and help drive improvements in how we work.

You’ll report to the **Operations and Systems Manager** and work closely with colleagues from across the charity. No two days will be the same – one day you might be preparing payroll, the next coordinating recruitment or supporting staff with IT queries.

**Key Responsibilities:**

🧾 **Finance:** Handle day-to-day bookkeeping (Xero), raise and track invoices, manage payroll submissions, support management accounts and assist with financial reporting.

👥 **HR & Recruitment:** Maintain our policy library and staff handbook, coordinate recruitment processes, onboarding, training, and staff benefits (EAP, pensions, Access to Work, etc).

💻 **IT & Equipment:** Support IT logistics, liaise with our external IT provider, track support hours, and manage equipment and office supplies.

🏢 **Office & Admin:** Manage office facilities (we share space with another education charity), respond to shared mailboxes, and provide general admin support.

**Essential**

- Strong commitment to Get Further’s mission and tackling educational inequality. - Proactive, accountable and eager to learn and develop in the role. - Trustworthy with confidential information, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and data protection (GDPR). - Confident handling financial information, with strong numeracy skills and a willingness to learn bookkeeping systems like Xero. - Excellent IT, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a solution-focused mindset. - Highly organised, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexibly and independently.

**Desirable Experience**

- Familiarity with the Further Education (FE) sector - Previous experience using Xero (or similar finance software) - Previous experience using Salesforce (or similar CRM system)
