HR Officer

Opportunity Type: Regular Fixed Term (Fixed Term) Summary: Are you a proactive, organized, and people-oriented HR professional looking to make a meaningful impact? We are seeking an energetic HR Officer to join our Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EME) Area Office team in Bratislava. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing end-to-end recruitment, streamlining HR administration, and supporting the complete employee lifecycle across an international mission-driven organization. Key Responsibilities: * Manage the full recruitment cycle, including creating recruitment advertisements, sourcing candidates, screening applications, conducting interviews, and facilitating the onboarding process. * Administer all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including new hire paperwork, record maintenance, and processing of employee changes. * Handle absence management, including tracking leave requests, maintaining accurate records, and communicating with employees regarding policies. * Provide comprehensive human resources administration support, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant employment laws. * Assist with payment handling related to HR functions, such as processing payroll inputs and managing employee expense reimbursements. * Contribute to the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. * Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures. * Support with event organization (logistics planning, support with visa applications) and other tasks Our requirements: * Bachelor´s degree in Human Resources Management, Economics, Administration, Public Policy/Administration, or other similar discipline * At least 2 years of experience in HR (ideally in a generalist role) * Fluent in Slovak and English * Strong administrative skills * Excellent communicator * Computer Literacy in MS Office * Ability to assertively tackle issues and handle these from start to finish * Proactive approach and ability to work independently * Strong service and client orientation and professionalism in writing and speaking * Ability to prioritize and good orientation to detail * Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to communicate effectively with people from different backgrounds * Experience with an HRIS preferred * Active support of HFHI Values: - Humility – We are part of something bigger than ourselves - Courage – We do what’s right, even when it is difficult or unpopular - Accountability – We take personal responsibility for Habitat’s mission * Safeguarding: HFHI requires that all employees take seriously their ethical responsibilities to safeguarding our intended beneficiaries, their communities, and all those with whom we work. Hiring Range: The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience.
