​​ Please note this is a hybrid role based on the successful candidate working at least two days a week in our London office. Remote contracts would not be considered for this role.  ​​ Comic Relief reserves the right to close the role early if a large number of applications are received. ​​Purpose of job:​   The Financial Data & Systems Lead is responsible for the systems and data within the finance team. In respect of the systems, they are responsible for the development, support and maintenance of Comic Relief’s finance and reporting systems and associated processes. In respect of the data, this post will oversee the processing of all financial transactions and ensure that data held in systems is up to date and accurate.     ​​Key responsibilities: ​   Ownership for finance systems, ensuring they operate in accordance with organisational policy and statutory requirements, the data within them is clean and up to date, and they remain fit for purpose.   Supervise the processing of all finance transactions including fixed assets, ensuring deadlines are met and treatment of transactions is in accordance with the Charity SORP.   Act as Domain Administrator for the finance system.   Develop training material for new finance team members and for new staff to Comic Relief.  Manage the maintenance of core data within the finance systems including (but not exclusive to) the chart of accounts, suppliers and grantees.  Own the standards and processes around storage of financial information, the use of Box, physical files and the shared drive  Take the lead role to design and develop standardised management reports from the system  Manage budgeting and forecasting tools and ensure data integrated with other systems.  Lead on month end including ownership of the month end timetable  Provide support and cover for other leads in the finance team     People management   Proactively undertake business planning, prioritise activities and set clear and realistic objectives based on capacity, expertise and aspirations.  Provide balanced, constructive feedback, undertake effective performance management to embed accountability and proactively support the professional development and growth of staff.  Maintain regular two way communication and dialogue with staff, ensuring information is cascaded and escalated as needed.  Model an enabling, inclusive and empowering leadership style that builds a values-based culture throughout the charity  ​​ Person specification​   ​​Essential criteria​   Fully qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) with relevant post qualification experience   Extensive experience of using finance system   Knowledge of Charities SORP and statutory accounting regulations   Experience in People Management      Desirable Criteria  Confident and self-motivated with high resilience that can work independently or as part of a collaborative cross-functional team.  Analytical thinker with exceptional communication skills that engage and inspire.  Effective presenter with the ability to influence key decision makers.  Don’t meet every single requirement?
