The Opportunity We're looking for a Finance Associate to join our growing finance team. You'll work closely with our Finance Director, helping keep the finance function running smoothly while improving the systems, reporting and processes that support the wider business. This isn't a traditional finance role where you'll spend all day processing invoices or updating spreadsheets. You'll be solving problems, improving how things work and partnering with teams across the business to help Simmer make better decisions as we continue to grow. One day you might be supporting month-end. The next you could be investigating an operational issue, improving a reporting process or helping another team answer an important commercial question. What You'll Be Doing Keep the finance function running smoothly Support month-end close and management reporting Own reconciliations across multiple systems Assist with accounts payable and receivable Support cash flow reporting Work with our external accounting partners Help maintain strong financial controls Improve the way we work Identify opportunities to simplify and automate processes Improve reporting tools and dashboards Strengthen finance processes as the business scales Support projects across the wider finance function Help the business make better decisions Prepare analysis and reporting Investigate financial and operational questions Turn data into clear, practical recommendations Support ad hoc commercial projects Work across the business You'll work closely with teams across Operations, Growth, Customer Experience, Technology and the founders, helping connect information, improve decision-making and keep the business moving quickly. Who We're Looking For You don't need to have done this exact role before. We're much more interested in how you think than whether you've ticked every box. Must-haves 1–4 years' experience in finance, accounting or another analytical role Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data Excellent attention to detail Naturally organised and dependable Curious and comfortable solving problems Takes ownership and follows things through Nice to have Studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA Experience in practice or a fast-growing business Exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations or management accounts Experience improving processes or building reports You'll Probably Enjoy This Role If You...
