Unplugged provides off‑grid cabins that give people permission to switch off: no wifi, no devices, no agenda, just a cosy cabin in an amazing setting, with space to think. We have almost 50 cabins live across 26 sites around the UK, with another 10-15 launching this year. Guest feedback is the number that matters most to us - it's the clearest, fastest signal we have that we're doing our job properly.

What You’ll Be Doing

We're hiring an Operations Manager to own the guest experience on the ground. It's a hands‑on, three‑part role, split across cleaning teams, maintenance, and new cabins.

Cleaning teams (60% of your time)

You'll hire, train, inspect and continuously improve our network of local changeover teams across the UK. You'll spend a lot of time out on the road, in cabins, working shoulder to shoulder with the people who deliver the last (and most important) mile of the guest experience, and holding the standard that earns us a 10/10 review. Day to day, this includes:

  • Creating physical and digital training materials for our changeover teams
  • Finding more efficient ways for us to communicate with changeover teams day to day
  • Feeding guest feedback back to changeover teams, tactfully but honestly
  • Working with changeover teams to learn how we can make their jobs easier and changeovers quicker
  • Sourcing and implementing new products and partnerships (i.e. we've recently started stocking Seep reusable products across our cabins)
  • Managing invoices from our changeover teams
  • Getting properly hands‑on yourself when needed: crawling under beds, reorganising cupboards, getting a bit dusty and dirty is part of the job, not an exception

Maintenance & improvements (30% of your time).

You'll own the upkeep of our existing cabins, spotting the small things early and making sure they get fixed, through our handyman and local contractors, before they become a bad review or a costly repair. You're the one who catches the problem, and ensure that someone fixes it! This also includes:

  • Managing our in‑house handyman
  • Setting up a process and timeline for proactively assessing cabins for maintenance issues
  • Managing our 'Cabin bible' database of imagery and info for all our different cabin designs.

New cabins (10% of your time)

You'll help bring new sites to life which includes:

  • Assisting with the organisation of cabin fit out at our workshop in Dorset
  • Helping setting up new cabins on site
  • Inducting our new changeover teams
  • Follow-up visits to new changeover teams
  • Ensuring each cabin is guest‑ready and launched on schedule

What We’re Looking For

  • An abundance of common sense and a keenness to hit the ground running
  • Experience managing multi‑site operations, possibly in hospitality, short‑let/serviced accommodation, glamping, or another guest‑facing, property‑based business
  • A track record of hiring, training and performance‑managing teams you don't sit next to every day: contractors, freelancers, or local/franchised teams
  • A full UK driving licence: you'll be on the road several days a week, in all weather, sometimes to remote sites
  • Comfort getting hands‑on with maintenance, snagging and problem‑solving on‑site, even when you're not the one holding the tools
  • Experience, or real appetite to learn, helping launch new sites: getting cabins guest‑ready and inducting new changeover teams
  • Sharp organisational skills: you'll be juggling a UK‑wide patch, multiple remote contractors, and a live pipeline of new sites, all at once
  • A genuine obsession with guest experience, and the resilience to chase a 10/10 rating even when the day hasn't gone your way.

This isn't a desk job, and it isn't a 9‑to‑5. You'll need a full diary, a full boot, and a good tolerance for unpredictability: cleaning teams don't always turn up, cabins don't always cooperate, and new sites rarely go entirely to plan. In return, you get a role where your impact is obvious, a team that backs you, and a genuinely different working week.

How We Work

  • Mondays and Fridays are office days at a WeWork near Liverpool Street, when the whole team is together.
  • Expect to be on the road for at least two of the remaining three days, visiting cabins and meeting changeover teams face to face.
  • The final day is yours: work from home, or from a WeWork of your choosing.

What success looks like

About a third of our guests complete a feedback form after their stay, and the score they give us is one of the biggest measures of success for this role.

You'll also track two further KPIs: refunds and vouchers issued that are attributed to cleanliness, or to tasks our changeover teams should have completed. These KPIs are owned by this role more than any other in the business, and they'll tell you, quickly and honestly, whether what you're doing is working.
