Host schools around Gravesham, Kent, and Gravesend Rowing Club plus occasional days visiting other LYR locations
This hands-on, relationship-led role sits at the heart of LYR's work in Kent. You'll build strong partnerships with State Secondary Schools around Gravesham, get young people hooked on indoor rowing, take full ownership of the on-water programme, and deliver a lively calendar of events every term.
Four Things You'll Own: Day-To-Day Aspects of the Role: Promote and teach our key LifeSkills everyday be delivering indoor sessions, on water sessions and events Track participation and impact through live data collection and regular assessments Promote pathways from school clubs into LYR Open Clubs or other sports communities Champion inclusivity, supporting all young people to engage, learn new skills and have fun
Support LYR in producing videos, resources and social media content Work with the LYR team of coaches, supporting each other both remotely and in person Actively engage in staff meetings and training Contribute to CPD, sharing knowledge across the coaching team Keep coaching skills current through ongoing training and qualifications Represent LYR's values and image positively at all times: #Be Brave #Be Curious #BeYourself
What We are Looking for: Essential Experience working with secondary-age young people in an inclusive environment Experience with account management and/or working with teachers and schools Coaching experience in rowing or another water sport Strong communicator, confident with IT, self-motivated and comfortable working remotely UKCC Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Rowing Full UK driving licence Desirable Other water sports qualifications, specifically kayaking and SUP RYA Power Boating Level 2 / Safeguarding course (can complete within first 6 months) Experience co-ordinating events and asset management This role requires an EnhancedDBS check.
