The Role: The FRS 102 conversion programme is a strategic initiative aimed at ensuring Oxfam's financial processes and procedures are compliant with statutory requirements and aligned with business needs. The Lease Accountant will be an integral part of the project team during the initial implementation phase, leading the finance workstream alongside the project manager to ensure WorkSavi is delivered on time and correctly integrated with PeopleSoft. Once live, this role holds functional ownership of, and is accountable for, the day-to-day operation of lease accounting across all asset classes - a large and complex portfolio spanning the UK and 17 countries - ensuring Oxfam's FRS 102 compliance position remains robust and audit-ready. The role interprets complex technical accounting matters and provides analysis and advice to country, regional and senior head office managers on lease-related statutory compliance and financial risk; influences managers and teams across the organisation to adopt new procedures and maintain standards; and supports the Deputy CFO and FRAP team in identifying areas of improvement aligned with FRAM's agreed scope. An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have: A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with advanced specialist and technical knowledge of financial reporting requirements (lease accounting standards) gained through experience, and a strong understanding of risks and controls Ability to understand and work within a complex, multi-country and multi-currency operational and accounting environment Willingness to engage with new technology Proven experience leading finance process improvement and system implementations, including change management Ability to be self-critical, have attention to detail and be persistent in the face of challenges Have an expectation of continuous improvement with self, the project and the organisation Strong project management and communications skills.
