Process Engineer

Rivan Industries is a synthetic fuel company decarbonising heavy industry. We’re making synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels, sustaining life on earth by keeping the CO₂ locked underground. There is no boilerplate engineering in this system, only the most innovative, problem solving engineers can thrive on this challenge. We operate with minimal process and bureaucracy, only what is essential to ensure our systems are safe, legally compliant, and deployed on time, everything else is up to you. The role Own process engineering of an entire Rivan sub-system The role encompasses the full development cycle across any of our modules, be it reactor, electrolyser, or DAC, but can be tailored to the specialist skillset of the applicant. We need you to: Ideate novel architectures and system integrations with the Rivan mindset Drive Aspen modelling and optimisation of your process unit Own detailed process calculations and design of your system Define control architectures Component specification and procurement Support process safety across our system Own the assembly, integration, site commissioning and test plans of your system Core skills Recent graduate or 1-2+ years of professional experience Bachelor’s or Masters in chemical engineering or related field Detailed process calculation ability, from heat and mass balance to relief sizing Experience designing, building, commissioning and operating deployed process plants Preferable skills HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA experience CAD experience Specifics £40-60k salary depending on experience Significant share options as part of the early team In-person work at our HQ in Bermondsey, South London Extensive relocation support, including £6000 per year extra to live close to our HQ Health insurance Unlimited time-off We encourage exceptional applicants from all backgrounds to apply for this role, even if they do not meet all the requirements listed.
