About The Role
New Story is seeking a talented Business Strategy Manager in Mexico City, Mexico (consideration will be given to other locations within Mexico).
This role is critical to New Story's goal of providing affordable housing solutions for 1 Million people by 2030.
The Business Strategy Manager will create, lead, and expand our business strategy as it pertains to our partnerships with innovative start-ups developing innovative models and technology, established companies addressing affordable housing for low-income households, financial service providers (inclusive of fintechs), construction companies, and construction material companies among others.
For each partnership, the Business Strategy Manager will assess organizational performance, develop achievable goals, implement processes that improve organizational effectiveness, and build a sustainable competitive advantage that expands the market systems portfolio.
This is a new role, and this individual will have the opportunity to help shape the process of business analysis, business planning and strategy implementation to support expansion of the market systems focused housing interventions portfolio of New Story.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Support the development of long-term strategy of the interventions that organizations are developing in partnership with New Story.
- Identify threats, risk mitigation strategies, and opportunities for the interventions that partner organizations are developing in partnership with New Story.
- Assess market trends and competitors that can support and/or hinder the expansion of the interventions partners are developing in partnership with New Story.
- Present findings, projections and recommended actions to improve the organization directly related to the interventions developed in partnership with New Story. i.e. Marketing plans, business processes, sales agents training, etc.
- Plan, implement and manage proposed recommendations along with other team members.
- Work alongside the monitoring and results measurement manager to make sure projects are moving forward and suggesting business improvements based on performance.
- Support and guide senior executive decision-making processes.
- Contribute to the development of reports and presentations from the Impact team (monthly, quarterly, annual) for various stakeholders of New Story.
Who You Are
- Degree in business or related field, MBA preferred.
- 5 years of experience in business administration, operations, management consulting or strategic planning.
- Excellent understanding of business operations and procedures.
- Experience with financial services for the low income households is a plus.
- Experience with affordable housing is a plus. Experience with digital finance is a plus.
- Highly skilled at creating business models, business plans and financial projections.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Outstanding research and analytical abilities.
- Exceptional project manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and delivers high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to convey complex information and investment opportunities to internal and external stakeholders in compelling formats.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build trust with diverse stakeholder groups, including investment committee, Board members, and co-investors.
- Able to travel to different locations within Mexico, and to Atlanta when required. Spanish and English language required.
Compensation
Our offer will be commensurate with experience. Our general range is between $55,000-65,000 USD/year.
