Identify, track and ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, and own the safety budget - prioritising spend effectively and presenting requirements in business terms. Develop and deliver a safety improvement roadmap with clear milestones and measurable outcomes. Operational Safety Conduct regular site inspections and walk-arounds, driving hazards and corrective actions to closure, and lead incident investigations using structured root cause analysis with tracked mitigating actions. Be an appointed ‘competent’ person for the premises, as per Regulation 7. Own the permit-to-work and fire safety systems, ensuring they remain fit for purpose as operations evolve. Coordinate all statutory inspections and examinations to 100% compliance, alongside occupational health and surveillance programmes covering noise, vibration and respiratory risk. Compliance & Reporting Prepare and submit all regulatory notifications and reports (including RIDDOR), and lead regulatory inspections through to prompt, thorough resolution of findings. Manage contractor safety end to end - pre-qualification, induction, RAMS review and ongoing performance monitoring - and liaise with insurers and external auditors on safety matters. Report monthly to senior leadership using both leading and lagging indicators, and embed continuous improvement through structured audit and review cycles.
