Operations Director

Rivan Industries is a pioneering synthetic fuel company focused on decarbonizing industries that cannot be electrified. Our mission is to make synthetic fuel more affordable than fossil fuels, thereby sustaining life on Earth by keeping CO2 locked underground. Over the past two years, we have developed and launched the UK's largest synthetic fuel plant and are set to expand this 1000x in the next two years. We are on track to produce synthetic fuels at a cost lower than fossil fuels within the next 5-10 years, a historic first that will redefine industry standards.

The role: As an Operations Director at Rivan Industries, you will oversee our permitting, deployment, funding, and organizational architecture to ensure we meet our ambitious goals. You will coordinate our deployment, permitting, commercial, and financial functions against targets, engage with key stakeholders in Spain and the UK, and garner support from local, regional, and governmental bodies. Your responsibilities will also include unlocking new opportunities for our projects, designing better organizational structures for increased agility, setting team goals, and leading retrospectives and optimizations.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of professional experience and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field, preferably engineering. A proven track record of execution in hardware or complex business environments is essential. Experience in fuels, commodities, or related fields, or experience working with policy or government, are considered bonus skills.

Benefits: The position offers a salary of £100,000 to £110,000, significant share options, and extensive relocation support including an additional £6000 per year to live close to our headquarters. We also offer unlimited time-off. This role requires in-person work at our headquarters in Bermondsey, South-East London.
