Chair of Board of Trustees

About the role As Chair of the Board of Trustees, you will provide strategic leadership and robust governance oversight to CARE International UK, guiding the organisation through a rapidly evolving international development landscape. Working in close partnership with the CEO and Board, you will help shape organisational direction, ensure effective governance, and support the successful delivery of CARE’s strategy to advance women’s rights and gender equality.

About you You are an experienced and influential leader with a strong track record of board-level governance, strategic oversight, and organisational leadership and a strong understanding of the international development sector. You will bring sound judgement, the ability to influence and build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, and an understanding of the complex international development landscape. Passionate about human rights, equality, anti-racism, feminist and inclusive leadership, you will be committed to supporting CARE's mission and values while helping the organisation navigate change and seize new opportunities for impact.
