You’ll join a curious, ambitious team that values ownership, clarity and pace — with equity that reflects the impact you’ll have.The OpportunityWe’re looking for a meticulous, experienced Property Compliance Team Lead to take ownership of our Licensing Applications team. You’ll manage and develop a team of Property Compliance Administrators, ensure every property license application submitted to local authorities is accurate and complete, and become the go-to expert on how requirements differ from council to council. Working closely with our Licensing Product Manager, you’ll find ways to streamline our application process end-to-end, build a more efficient audit process to guarantee 100% accuracy, and act as a senior point of contact for the letting agents and landlords we support.What You Will DoTeam Leadership & DevelopmentManage and support the Licensing Applications team, leading daily/weekly stand-ups to track progress, share updates, and unblock issues.Train new and existing team members on application processes, council-specific requirements, and best practice.Act as the escalation point for complex or high-risk cases, coaching the team through to resolution. Application Preparation & SubmissionComplete online property licence application forms for local authorities (e.g., selective, additional, and HMO licences).Upload and organise all documentation into shared systems (e.g., Airtable,HubSpot, or Google Drive).Track progress and submit completed applications to the relevant council Portals, Perform QA of application submissionCouncil & Regulatory ExpertiseBuild and maintain deep knowledge of how application requirements, forms, and processes differ between local authorities across the UK.Keep the team’s knowledge base and internal guidance up to date as council requirements change.Act as the go-to expert for the team, and the wider business, on council-specific nuances.Process ImprovementPartner with the Licensing Product Manager to identify and implement ways to streamline the applications process, from data collection through to submission.Identify opportunities to automate or improve existing workflows and tools Feed insights from the team’s day-to-day work into product and process improvements.Quality & AuditDesign and run a more efficient, thorough audit process for submitted applications to ensure 100% accuracy and compliance.Regularly review a sample of applications, feeding back to individuals and identifying trends.Maintain and improve quality control checklists KPIs and standards for the team.Customer RelationshipsBuild strong, trusted relationships with letting agents and landlords, acting as a senior point of contact for more complex or sensitive queries.Liaise directly with council officers to resolve escalated or unusual cases.Represent the team professionally in all customer-facing communications.ReportingMaintain accurate, up-to-date logs of in-progress and submitted applications across the team.Provide regular reporting on team performance, application volumes, and audit outcomes to senior stakeholders.What You BringEssential:Proven experience managing or leading a team, ideally within operations, compliance, or a similar administrative function.Exceptional attention to detail and a rigorous approach to accuracy and quality control.Strong working knowledge of (or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn) property licensing and local authority application processes.Excellent relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging directly with letting agents, landlords, and council officers.Experience designing or improving processes and workflows Strong written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities across a team.Desirable but not essential:Experience within property licensing, lettings, property management, or housing compliance.Experience working with UK local authorities, in particular web portals and public-facing interfacesFamiliarity with tools such as Google Workspace.Experience running audits or quality assurance processes.Experience partnering with product teams to shape process or tooling improvements.Why Kamma This is a chance to build and shape a growing team at a business that’s redefining how the property industry handles compliance.
