Think-Film operates at the cutting-edge of film, storytelling and social action. Our globally recognised films - including Hollywood features like 'Dark Waters' starring Mark Ruffalo, Oscar winners like 'Navalny', and A-list festival headliners like 'Io Capitano' and 'The Cycle of Love' - have won awards, saved lives, championed democratic freedoms and protected the environment for future generations. Read all about us at https://tfip.org/.

We are looking for an exceptionally capable Head of Delivery to join our team. This is a role for someone who is brilliant at making things happen.

You will operate at the centre of the company’s day-to-day, ensuring that projects move forward with purpose, commitments are delivered, results are achieved, clients are cared for, information held is accurate, risks are identified early, problems are solved positively, people are working diligently, and nothing important falls through the cracks.

You will work closely with the COO to translate strategic direction into organised, disciplined, and effective execution. We are looking for someone who can take a strategy, understand what it is trying to achieve, turn it into a practical delivery plan, get the team moving, keep everyone accountable, and drive through to an excellent result.

Think-Film is deliberately a small team. The best person for this role will manage hands-on, including by actively spotting opportunities to get directly involved in the work. We need someone who understands that everything we do is a team effort, and sometimes the fastest and most necessary way to get a project over the line is simply to do what needs to be done.

What The Role Involves

Delivering ambitious change in the world relies on executing our projects with excellence. You will work on international, awards-worthy documentary and feature films, transforming these into strategic impact campaigns involving policy, advocacy, partnerships, and audience engagement, and lead the team to achieve measurable, real-world results.

This role requires:

  • exceptional planning and organisational skills,
  • excellent communication and people skills,
  • expert project management capability,
  • sound judgement,
  • a practical and commercially aware mindset,
  • an instinct for identifying risks and opportunities,
  • the ability and desire to understand both detail and the bigger picture,
  • a very high standard of written, strategic, and ideally also creative work,
  • an implicit understanding that quality assurance is paramount,
  • a heart for serving people and the planet - which is ultimately why we do this work.

The pace at Think-Film is fast, and the learning curve is steep. This is an environment unlike anywhere else. We don’t expect you to come with any particular film industry or policy sector knowledge, but you will be expected to get up to speed rapidly (with training and support) with how our systems operate and what expectations look like in our context.

No two days will be the same. You will be topic-switching across multiple human rights and social justice issues, engaging a wide variety of stakeholders, and dealing with films at different creative and commercial stages. You will need to be able to quickly absorb large amounts of information, make smart decisions for yourself and others, surf the flow of a constantly changing priority stream, and be able to keep both a project’s immediate action steps and its end goal in the forefront of your mind.

We want someone who thinks about why we do things the way we do, what good looks like, and what we could do better. You will have a direct role in helping our COO understand what is actually happening in the team day-to-day, what’s not going well, and where we should invest our energy and resources next to best achieve our ambitions.

What We Expect From You

You will oversee delivery across a portfolio of film impact campaign projects to ensure that the team is disciplined and accountable, actions are delivered to a consistently high standard, budgets and resources are controlled, deadlines are responsibly managed, problems are surfaced early, and the COO is kept well-informed so that strategic decisions made at the top are efficiently translated back into new direction on the ground.

Team Leadership

We expect you to run our team day-to-day, keeping everything on track. You will:

  • Maintain a clear overview of what is happening across the team and our project slate, reporting into the COO.
  • Line-manage team members within agreed responsibilities.
  • Take overall responsibility for ensuring that results on all slate projects are achieved.
  • Goal-set, and ensure team members understand what they are responsible for, what good looks like, what needs to happen next, and by when.
  • Embed a team culture where people take end-to-end task ownership rather than wait for progressive instructions.
  • Monitor team members’ workload and identify capacity issues before they become problems.
  • Check and chase task and project progress proactively and consistently, making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Model a hands-on management style by directly running at least one project end-to-end and jumping in to assist with ad hoc project tasks as needed.
  • Support and challenge team members to improve the quality, speed, and reliability of their work.
  • Identify where team members need additional support, training, clarification, or direction. Provide this as far as possible, and escalate needs that require further intervention to the COO.
  • Escalate persistent performance, capacity or delivery issues within the team to the COO appropriately.

Project Delivery & Operations Day-To-Day Oversight

Your key responsibilities will be to ensure that the work runs smoothly, and that outcomes we’ve committed to are delivered. This will include:

  • Understanding approved impact campaign strategies and their intended outcomes.
  • Turning impact campaign strategies into clear, realistic, time-limited delivery plans - and training team members how to do this independently.
  • Allocating individual responsibilities, KPIs, and deadlines, and holding team members accountable to these.
  • Tracking actual project progress against objectives, timelines and budgets, maintaining accurate project trackers and documentation, and ensuring the team delivers regular client reporting.
  • Checking and chasing team members to make sure nothing gets missed or forgotten.
  • Quality-checking team content work before it reaches clients, stakeholders, or the COO.
  • Identifying gaps, inconsistencies or weaknesses in project delivery, and developing solutions when delivery becomes difficult - seeking support where needed.
  • Escalating significant strategic decisions around project delivery to the COO, with clear solution recommendations wherever possible.
  • Ensuring projects are properly closed, evaluated and documented.
  • Streamlining day-to-day operations processes and ensuring these are applied fully and consistently. Supporting and challenging team members to improve their administration, record-keeping and reporting. Identifying and remedying internal operations/process issues that could lead to missed opportunities.
  • Supporting the team by stepping in as needed to deliver ad hoc tasks.

Resource Management

As with all our team members, you will take responsibility for the financial and resource management of projects within your remit. This includes:

  • Developing and monitoring implementation budgets.
  • Tracking expenditure.
  • Managing suppliers and contractors where relevant.
  • Understanding resource implications of project decisions.
  • Identifying if or where we are spending disproportionate time for insufficient return.
  • Proactively identifying emerging financial risks connected to individual projects.
  • Providing the COO with clear financial information and recommendations on specific project spend.
  • Ensuring resources are deployed where they can generate the greatest project value.

Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

You will provide operational and management oversight to the company's stakeholder engagement activity, including horizontally to the Head of Strategic Partnerships. You should be confident enough to represent Think-Film externally. You will:

  • Build trusted professional relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Lead external meetings where appropriate.
  • Attend film or policy events where relevant or requested to represent the Company.
  • Manage client expectations.
  • Handle difficult conversations constructively.
  • Identify relationship risks and reputational concerns.
  • Ensure important stakeholder interactions are properly followed through.
  • Support colleagues in preparing for high-value meetings and relationships.
  • Step in for team members where a client, stakeholder, or partner relationship or situation requires additional judgement.

COO/CEO Conduit

Because you will sit at the centre of delivery, you will become one of the most important sources of intelligence to our CEO & COO. You will hear directly from clients, partners, filmmakers, team members and stakeholders. You will understand where opportunities are emerging, where strategies are struggling, where goals set are becoming unrealistic, and where projects could achieve considerably more if we brought additional resources, relationships or ambition to them.

We expect you to develop a sophisticated understanding of what is happening across Think-Film and continually translate operational information into strategic insight. This is also where your role becomes part of the future development of Think-Film, rather than simply the management of its present operations.

The kind of person we are looking for

You may have worked in advocacy, campaigns, events, consulting, or another fast-paced environment. You will probably have 5-7+ years of relevant experience, including significant experience managing people, projects, programmes and/or operations.

You will likely be someone who;

  • Gets to grips with new topics quickly,
  • Is exceptionally organised amid a fast-moving environment,
  • Notices the detail while understanding the bigger picture,
  • Knows when something needs escalation beyond their remit,
  • Has a good writing style and an eye for design,
  • Can stretch limited resources strategically,
  • Can manage upset or difficult people calmly and professionally,
  • Can constructively hold colleagues accountable,
  • Can work at pace without sacrificing quality,
  • Has strong judgement,
  • Is emotionally intelligent,
  • Is generous with knowledge and actively helps other people perform better,
  • Is happy to get into the weeds when the work requires it,
  • Is motivated by meaningful work and wants to make a tangible contribution.

Most importantly, when something needs to happen, you make sure it happens.

This role could be particularly exciting for someone who has spent several years in a larger organisation and has become frustrated by slow decision-making or having to wait years before being trusted with meaningful responsibility. Perhaps you have built significant expertise but feel your voice gets lost inside a large structure. Perhaps you’ve improved every process you’ve touched but you’ve been longing to find a deeper purpose. Perhaps something inside you is just buzzing reading this and knows that you don’t tick every box, but if we gave you a chance we’d find you’re exactly what we need.

Here, you will get to grow something meaningful while also stretching yourself. You will work directly with senior leadership, and work across film, culture, philanthropy, advocacy and policy in a job that never gets repetitive, and that really matters in the world.

Because you will sit at the centre of delivery, your judgement and voice will directly help shape where Think-Film goes next.

Why Work at Think-Film

Think-Film is a unique action-focused and solutions-oriented environment. We have an extensive track record of impact results and highly esteemed positioning in the global film industry. We work with global governments, brands and civil society organisations, and on cutting-edge films that are investigating and shaping conversation on the biggest topics of our time - from online disinformation and AI, to war and peace, and the very future of the planet.

You will have:

  • Direct access to our CEO and COO.
  • Genuine autonomy and decision-making responsibility.
  • Shared ownership of real-world impact results.
  • Rare inroads to a high-value network of film industry, creative talent, funders, policymakers, brands, civil society leaders, journalists, think-tanks, academics, and influencers.
  • Privileged opportunities to attend, network, and visibly represent the company at major film festivals, conferences, screenings and industry events, including annual participation at Cannes Film Festival.
  • Unique opportunity to gain experience across an unusually broad range of policy sectors and global arenas including EU, Council of Europe, OECD, UNGA, OHCHR, COP, etc.
  • The chance to develop organisational systems rather than simply operate within them.

  • A real voice in which films and issues Think-Film chooses to take on.
  • The opportunity to help shape how Think-Film grows.

We want someone who will be proud to work at Think-Film, who cares deeply about the people and planet this work exists to serve. Who wakes up every day willing to get in the arena, contribute their best effort, and expand what they are capable of. We are looking for someone who wants to make their mark.

  • Pension at 3% employer contribution.
  • Opportunities upon contract extension for performance-related bonuses, and for salary to increase as the company grows.

  • Exceptionally generous senior leadership investment into your training and progression.
  • Privileged first-look film access, including early sequences, rough cuts and picture-lock premiere versions, ahead of public viewing.
  • Unique experiences including possibilities for international travel to film festivals and policy arenas, opportunities to attend high-profile events including red carpet film premieres with talent.

Please note that we cannot sponsor visas, for this role you must have the right to live and work in the UK.
