What will you be doing?

This is a senior volunteer role for someone with significant fundraising experience who can bring strategic thinking, strong relationships and a proven ability to generate sustainable income.

You will work closely with the organisation's directors and wider team to develop and deliver a fundraising strategy, identify new income opportunities and build strong relationships with trusts, foundations, businesses, community partners and other potential supporters.

Your experience will help us move from individual fundraising activities towards a structured, sustainable approach that supports the organisation's long-term growth and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the organisation's overall fundraising strategy in line with its aims, values and growth plans.
  • Identify and develop a diverse range of income streams, including grants, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, sponsorship, individual giving, community fundraising and other appropriate opportunities.
  • Lead the development of high-quality funding applications, proposals and expressions of interest.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, corporate partners, donors and other stakeholders.
  • Develop a structured fundraising pipeline and monitor applications, opportunities, deadlines, income and outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the organisation's financial sustainability.
  • Support community fundraising initiatives and provide guidance to volunteers involved in fundraising activity.
  • Ensure fundraising activity is ethical, transparent and consistent with the organisation's values and relevant policies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Compassionate, reliable and approachable individuals who are ready to work hands-on in the community.
  • Experience working with vulnerable groups is desirable, but not essential; the right mindset matters most.
  • A team player with strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of different service users and situations.

Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a passionate, purpose-led team making a visible difference in people’s lives. We offer a supportive working environment, opportunities for development, and the chance to be part of a growing CIC committed to lasting social impact.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced fundraising professional who can provide strategic leadership and help take our fundraising to the next level.

You will ideally have:

  • Significant professional experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of securing income from trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors or other relevant sources.
  • Experience developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK funding landscape and experience identifying appropriate funding opportunities.
  • Excellent bid-writing and proposal-development skills, with the ability to communicate impact clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with funders, donors, corporate partners and other stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities and develop creative approaches to generating income.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple funding opportunities and deadlines.
  • The ability to work strategically while also being willing to get involved in hands-on fundraising activity.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with directors, volunteers and external partners.
  • A genuine commitment to tackling homelessness and improving outcomes for people experiencing hardship.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion.

What difference will you make?

Through your leadership, you will help the organisation to:

  • Secure sustainable funding to expand and strengthen its support for people experiencing homelessness and hardship.
  • Develop a more diverse and resilient income base.
  • Increase access to grants, corporate partnerships and other strategic funding opportunities.
  • Build long-term relationships with funders and supporters who share our commitment to tackling homelessness.
  • Strengthen the organisation's ability to plan and deliver projects with greater financial stability.
  • Turn the organisation's impact and community work into compelling fundraising opportunities.
  • Create greater opportunities for vulnerable individuals to access practical support, housing, healthcare, employment and pathways towards independence.
