What will you be doing?

As our Programme Lead, you’ll play a key role in bringing Collaboration for Kids (CFK) to life. You’ll help us deliver fun, engaging and meaningful nutrition and lifestyle activities that inspire children and adults to make healthier choices. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll guide a small volunteer team, support the smooth running of our interventions, and help us build positive relationships with the communities we work with.

You’ll work closely with two core teams: our Education Content Team, who create the workshop materials and activities, and our Research, Data & Evidencing Team, who help us understand the impact of our work. You don’t need to be a nutrition expert — we’ll provide all the training and resources you need. Your focus will be on coordinating delivery, supporting volunteers, and helping ensure each intervention runs smoothly and feels enjoyable.

A key part of your role will be leading and supporting your volunteer team. You’ll help everyone understand their responsibilities, keep them motivated, and make sure they have what they need to deliver sessions confidently. You’ll also bring your own ideas and insights, helping us shape activities so they feel relevant, creative and engaging.

You’ll help build and maintain relationships with our Partners who share our values. This might include arranging visits, discussing upcoming workshops, or exploring new opportunities for CFK. You’ll act as a friendly ambassador and advocate for CFK.

Project coordination is another important part of the role. You’ll help plan each intervention from start to finish — organising timelines, checking resources, supporting rehearsals, and making sure everyone knows what’s happening and when. After each intervention, you’ll help run a short debrief, sharing what went well, what we learned, and what we can improve next time. This helps us keep developing our programme and ensures the best possible experience.

You’ll also represent your team in leadership meetings, sharing updates and helping us stay aligned with CFK’s mission, values and approach. We’ll support you throughout, and you’ll be part of a friendly, collaborative charity community that cares deeply about improving children and families health and wellbeing.

Most of your work will be done from home with occasional on-site visits. The weekly commitment is usually around 5–6 hours, with flexibility depending on what’s happening in the programme. We’ll always plan ahead and work around your availability.

Overall, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with and supporting volunteers, and helping create positive change. You’ll have the chance to shape how CFK delivers its mission, develop your leadership and project skills, and be part of a supportive team making a real difference to future generations.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience working with children, teachers, and parents in school settings or a background in education, health, sport, or related areas   We welcome experience from a wide range of settings — anything that shows you enjoy supporting children and working with families or schools is helpful.
  • Strong team management and leadership skills, with experience of leading teams is essential   This can come from paid work, volunteering or community roles — we’re interested in your ability to support and motivate others.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills   You don’t need formal qualifications — being organised, reliable and comfortable coordinating tasks is what matters.
  • Clear and confident communicator, written, verbal, and visual, with fluency in English   We’re looking for someone who communicates warmly and clearly.
  • Experience of building relationships with schools, partners, and stakeholders   Any experience of outreach, partnership work or community engagement is helpful — it doesn’t need to be formal.
  • Passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and improving public health  If you care about helping people thrive, you’ll fit in well with our friendly, mission‑driven team.
  • Enjoy teamwork, innovation, and leading continuous improvement   We value people who bring ideas, positivity and a willingness to help us keep improving.
  • Commitment to volunteer for at least 5–6 hours per week on average (flexible across weeks) for the duration of the project (minimum commitment to 2+ years)   We’re flexible and will always plan ahead around your availability, we simply hope volunteers stay long enough to see the impact of their work.
  • Prior experience in a similar role (paid or voluntary) would be an advantage but isn’t essential   Transferable experience is absolutely fine, we’re open to volunteers from many backgrounds.
  • Experience of nutrition, diet, food sciences or technology is a benefit but not essential (These skills and experience are covered by the Content Team Education)   You don’t need to be a nutrition expert, we provide all training and materials, and you’ll be fully supported by our Content Team.

What difference will you make?

This role is central to how Collaboration for Kids (CFK) brings its mission to life. By leading the delivery of our nutrition and lifestyle activities, you’ll help us reach children and adults giving them the knowledge, confidence and encouragement to make healthier choices. Your leadership will directly shape the experience of our programmes, helping us create sessions that feel fun, engaging and meaningful.

CFK is a volunteer‑led initiative within the Collaborative Health Community, and we rely on committed, supportive volunteers to make our work possible. As Programme Lead, you’ll help us coordinate our efforts, strengthen our delivery, and ensure our interventions run smoothly. By guiding a small team of volunteers, you’ll help everyone feel confident in their roles and able to contribute positively. This support is essential — it allows us to grow our reach while maintaining the quality and care people expect from us.

You’ll also help us build strong relationships with schools, teachers, health coaches and other partners. These relationships are vital to our impact. Your ability to communicate clearly, listen to their needs and represent CFK with warmth and professionalism will help us create lasting partnerships that benefit whole communities.

Another important part of your contribution will be helping us learn from each intervention. By supporting planning, delivery and post‑session reflection, you’ll help us understand what works well and where we can improve. This feedback helps our Content Team refine materials, supports our Research Team in measuring impact, and ensures our programme continues to evolve in ways that genuinely help.

Your involvement also strengthens our capacity as a growing charity. With your support, we can deliver more interventions, explore new opportunities, and expand into new regions. This helps us reach more people who may be struggling with the effects of ultra‑processed foods or unhealthy lifestyle habits. Every successful intervention contributes to our wider mission of improving physical and mental wellbeing.

Anything else...

The weekly commitment is usually around 5–6 hours, with flexibility depending on programme activity. Some weeks may be quieter, while weeks with school visits or workshops may need a little more time. We’ll always plan ahead around your availability.
