  • ‘Tech support’ i.e. behind the scenes help on Zoom.
  • Supporting CEO on the transition to new Community Interest Company
  • Support with the project’s monitoring aligned with our organisation mission in 2027.

What are we looking for?

  • Administrative experience: You will be highly organised, with strong attention to detail.
  • Systems: You are a quick learner, and will be able to get on with the tasks required, as well as be able to use your initiative to make improvements to systems in place.
  • Communication: You’ll have a warm and professional communication style and will be great at talking to people, whether they be campaigners or funders, listening to and meeting their needs. You have an excellent eye for detail and have strong writing skills - able to send clear, concise emails ahead of events and minutes after these.
  • IT literate and online presence: You will know your way around a computer and be comfortable using different systems. You will have used Gmail and Excel.

  • Problem-solving skills: Inevitably, things go wrong or take unusual turns – you’ll be able and up for working with your team to find solutions to the issue at hand. You’re not afraid to reach out to colleagues when things go wrong, and you won’t overthink mistakes.

What difference will you make?

You will be contributing to the implementation of a creative programm of activities, films and events that educate audiences on the cultural heritage of displaced communities particularly the Syrian diaspora. Our organisarion received an award for excellence an extraordinary example of an archive both preserving the voices of displaced and fractured communities for the future and acting as an engine of community resilience in the present. This is an archive at its best: raw emotion, portraying real life and its impact on individuals and families, community leadership and involvement, a focus on tomorrow - the younger generation - and an excellent website for outreach and advocacy. This archive will become an outstanding research tool for the future. But it is also – evidently – succeeding in its principal short-term goal of community building."
