ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability is a global network dedicated to sustainable urban development, influencing policies and driving local action for sustainable, resilient, and low-carbon cities. We are currently implementing the RENEW-SEA project, aimed at empowering local and regional governments in Southeast Asia to enhance sustainable energy use, particularly focusing on public buildings under the concept of 'positive energy buildings' (PEBs).
The role: Under the guidance of the ICLEI World Secretariat, the selected service provider will develop a knowledge product on sustainable energy use in public buildings. This will include drafting a document of approximately 30-40 pages that serves as a practical guide to implementing PEBs in Southeast Asia, with a focus on Malaysia and Indonesia. The document should be provided in English and optionally in Bahasa Indonesia or Bahasa Malay, and include infographics and visual aids.
Job requirements: The ideal service provider should have a graduate degree in environmental management, engineering, energy policy, or a related field. Proven experience in analytical work related to buildings and energy policy, and advisory services to local governments in Southeast Asia, particularly Malaysia or Indonesia, is strongly desired.
Benefits: The contract offers a total value of up to USD 5000, with payment terms including 30% of the budget upon signing and 70% upon final product validation. The project duration is a maximum of 10 weeks.
Additional information: Ultimate ownership of the knowledge product rests with ICLEI, and confidentiality must be maintained throughout the project. Quality assurance will be conducted through bilateral meetings with ICLEI.
