What will you be doing?

Two Generations is a social enterprise helping older people remain living independently at home through Homeshare. It's about multi-generational living and bringin communities together.

We have recently expanded our work through new partnerships, and are looking for a volunteer to help us build awareness and reach potential Householders and Homesharers in these areas.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Help develop focused local outreach plans to reach potential Householders and Homesharers in our priority regions.
  • Research local audiences, organisations, networks and communities that could help us reach the right people.
  • Identify and approach relevant channels such as community groups, local employers, universities, housing networks and voluntary organisations.
  • Explore opportunities to promote Homeshare through local social media groups, newsletters, community websites and other local channels.
  • Help us build relationships with organisations that can raise awareness or refer people to Two Generations.
  • Test different outreach approaches and help us understand which are most effective.
  • Create a simple bank of contacts, opportunities and activity that the Two Generations team can continue to develop.
  • Work closely with our team so that outreach supports current local partnerships and matching needs.

What are we looking for?

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be an expert in Homeshare - we’ll provide the information and support you need. We’d particularly welcome someone with:

  • Experience or a strong interest in community engagement, outreach, marketing, communications or partnership development.
  • Confidence communicating with different organisations and community groups and working in targeted areas at a grassroots level.
  • Good research and organisational skills.
  • A practical and creative approach to finding new ways to reach people.
  • The ability to work independently while staying connected with a small remote team.
  • An interest in social impact, independent living, housing or bringing generations together.
  • Experience of one of our priority areas - Hertfordshire, Norfolk or the Isle of Wight - would be useful but is not essential.

What difference will you make?

Homeshare can make a significant difference to people who want to remain living independently in their own home, while also providing affordable accommodation and a sense of connection for Homesharers.

As we establish new partnerships in these areas, raising local awareness is vital. Your support will help us reach more people who could benefit, build stronger local networks and turn our new partnerships into successful Homeshare matches.

  • What will you gain?
  • The opportunity to play a meaningful role in the growth of an established social enterprise tackling loneliness, independent living and housing challenges.
  • Hands-on experience in community outreach, marketing and partnership development.
  • The chance to develop and test your own ideas and see the impact of your work.
  • Collaboration with a friendly, mission-led team.
  • A flexible, remote role that can fit around your existing commitments.
