What will you be doing?

We’re looking for a volunteer with social media experience to help us grow awareness of Two Generations’ Homeshare scheme.

Two Generations pairs older adults with carefully matched housemates for companionship and practical support through Homeshare. We also work with employers to support working carers through our employee benefit offering.

What will you be doing?

We’re looking for a friendly, organised volunteer to help us plan and run our social media across two key channels:

  • LinkedIn (B2B): promoting our employee benefit offering and building credibility with HR, wellbeing and employee benefits audiences
  • Facebook (B2C): engaging our community and reaching people who may benefit from Homeshare directly (older householders, sharers and families)

Key Responsibilities

  • Create an engaging social media strategy: Define content themes and messaging for LinkedIn vs Facebook.
  • Build and maintain a content schedule: Create a quarterly plan and keep it up to date.
  • Research hooks and campaign ideas: Identify national dates/awareness weeks, topical hooks, and campaign themes we can use.
  • Write, design, and post content: Draft short posts and publish/schedule them each week.
  • Create simple visuals: Use Canva (templates can be provided) to create engaging graphics for posts.
  • Support partnership growth: Research key organisations (charities, community organisations, local networks, employee benefits partners) and suggest outreach approaches and content ideas to help start conversations on relevant pages.
  • Facebook advertising: Run localised FB campaigns for housholders and sharers in priority locations
  • Performance tracking: Keep an eye on basic engagement and share quick learnings (what’s working, what to do more of).
  • Increase sharer database: Use both organic and paid FB activity to increase applications to our Sharers database, working with Ops to identify key regional areas and creating grass roots marketing activity.

What are we looking for?

What are we looking for?

  • Experience using LinkedIn and Facebook (posting, writing for the audience, understanding what performs)
  • Confident writing skills and an ability to keep tone warm, clear and trustworthy
  • Commit to 2-3 hours a week to ensure consistent posting
  • Comfortable using scheduling tools
  • Design skills, Canva experience is a bonus (or enthusiasm to use templates and learn quickly)
  • Interest in social impact, older people, community support, housing, wellbeing, or employee benefits is helpful
  • Experience in FB advertising is a bonus, but willingness to learn is just as important

What difference will you make?

Your support will help Two Generations show up consistently online, reach more people who could benefit from Homeshare, build trust with families and communities, and increase awareness among employers and partners who can help us grow our impact.

If you enjoy planning content, spotting great hooks, and creating effective posts, we’d love to hear from you.
