What will you be doing?

Marjory Kinnon School is an all-age (Reception to Year 11) SEND school in the London Borough of Hounslow.  We are a school for pupils whose primary need is ASC.  The children are at the heart of every decision we make and we aim to ensure that the learning opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.  We aim to teach them the life skills and give them the confidence and independence to become integrated and included in their community.

What are we looking for?

You don't need previous governance experience. We'll provide training and support. What matters most is that you're willing to contribute your experience, ask thoughtful questions, and share our commitment to keep the children at the heart of every decision we make.  

We would particularly welcome a governor with experience in teaching and learning, safeguarding or finance.

What difference will you make?

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference.  Every strategic decision made by the Governing Body helps shape the education, support and opportunities our pupils receive.  

You do not need formal qualifications or governance experience. Instead, you need a keen interest in the school, a commitment to improving the educational outcomes for all pupils and to be prepared to play an active part in the Governing Body's work.

The time commitment is a minimum of preparing for and attending 3 Full Governing Body evening meetings and 3 daytime Committee Meetings each year, as well as termly monitoring visits.
