What will you be doing?

BPUR International is advancing the Declaration of Intent on Preventing the Political Abuse of Religion and the International Partnership established to turn its objectives into action. The Partnership brings together governments, institutions and distinguished individuals to strengthen prevention, equality and peace.

As our volunteer Fundraising Manager, you will help secure the founding support needed to build the Partnership’s capacity, international reach and long-term sustainability.

You will:

  • Develop a focused fundraising plan with the team, using the approved prospectuses and operational plan.
  • Research and prioritise philanthropists, foundations, corporate supporters and grant opportunities.
  • Prepare tailored approaches, proposals and grant applications that explain what support will achieve.
  • Build and maintain a clear prospect pipeline, recording approaches, next steps and progress.
  • Support conversations with potential Patrons of the Partnership and coordinate follow-up.
  • Help develop supporter relationships through clear updates on progress and achievements.
  • Work with the team to connect fundraising with the Rabat Founding Summit and the Partnership’s founding priorities.

The role combines strategic thinking with practical writing, research and relationship-building. Background on the Declaration and Partnership is available at https://dippar.org. Please apply through Reach.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in fundraising, with strengths in major donor relationships, foundation applications or corporate partnerships.
  • Ability to turn an operational plan and budget into a clear, convincing case for support.
  • Strong research, proposal-writing and relationship-building skills.
  • Good organisation and follow-up, including maintaining an accurate fundraising pipeline.
  • Sound judgement, discretion and respect for donor confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a small international team.
  • Commitment to prevention, equality and peace. Experience with international initiatives or institutional audiences would be welcome.

What difference will you make?

Your work will help turn founding support into the people, systems and programmes needed for sustained international action. By building strong relationships with patrons, you will enable the Partnership to advance cooperation and clearer international standards to prevent the political abuse of religion.

This is an opportunity to help build an international institution working for lasting peace, equality and social cohesion. You will contribute your fundraising expertise at a formative stage, working with a team committed to translating the Declaration’s objectives into practical progress.
