About Train Hugger
Train Hugger is a travel booking platform with a simple mission: every booking supports the planting of a tree in the UK through our partnership with the Royal Forestry Society.
Our business platform combines rail and hotel bookings with cutting edge tools to manage company travel. As a tech-led business, customers and travel managers can do everything they need on the platform. From bookings, amendments, split tickets, cross carrier and cross border continental travel, to travel policies, custom fields and expenses, Train Hugger makes travel easy to book and easy to manage. This gives you a practical proposition to sell: the most up-to-date travel management platform, (rare) Europe-wide rail licences and a clear connection to UK woodland restoration.
The combination of our best-in-class technology, pricing, UK-based account management and sustainability offering has led to extraordinary growth in the last two years. Last year we grew from £300k turnover to £3M turnover and expect to hit £20M by the end of next year.
About the role
You will own the sales cycle for new Corporates, from finding prospects to securing new customers. Your focus will be organisations with regular rail and hotel travel needs, helping them understand how Train Hugger fits their travel requirements, policies, budgets and sustainability priorities.
You will speak with the people who choose and manage business travel, including finance, operations, procurement and sustainability teams. By understanding how they currently book journeys, you will build a case for switching to Train Hugger and help turn that decision into regular use.
You will be able to build and manage a sales process and in time, a sales team that can take full advantage of Train Hugger’s market lead.
Your responsibilities
- Research prospects and generate leads through direct outreach and networking.
- Build and manage a sales pipeline, keeping CRM records up to date.
- Run discovery calls and platform demonstrations for SMEs and larger organisations.
- Explain how booking features, spend reporting and tree planting meet each customer’s needs.
- Manage proposals, objections and negotiations through to closing.
- Coordinate customer onboarding and follow up to encourage repeat bookings.
- Report sales performance and share customer feedback to improve the sales approach.
- Build an end-to-end sales system into which a larger sales team can be recruited.
What you will bring
- At least three years of full-cycle B2B sales experience and evidence of achieving targets.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with confidence presenting by phone, video and in person.
- Experience managing leads and opportunities in a CRM.
- Initiative, organisation and a collaborative approach to solving problems.
- A deep understanding of lead-gen tools.
You enjoy finding out how a business works and translating that understanding into a sale. You can discuss the commercial reasons to change a booking platform as clearly as its environmental purpose. You are comfortable following up, handling questions and keeping opportunities moving.
Why join Train Hugger
This role connects commercial success with a tangible outcome: more travel bookings mean more trees planted in the UK. You will have the opportunity to contribute ideas on how we reach customers, demonstrate the platform and support adoption.
You will have a product that is easy to sell and customers want.
It's a very exciting time in our growth journey!
