What will you be doing?

Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow Brent is an established charity supporting older people in the community and are looking for passionate individuals to join our Board of Trustees. If you or someone you know is interested in making a meaningful impact, this could be a great opportunity!

Here are some key points about the Trustee role:

  • Monthly Meetings: Trustees meet monthly to provide governance and strategic direction.
  • Support and Oversight: The Board supports the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team, overseeing the charity’s work.
  • Varied Experience: We are particularly looking for expertise in Financial Management, Marketing and Communications, Estate Planning, Charity Retailing, and Fundraising/Income Generation.
  • Induction and Development: New Trustees receive thorough induction and ongoing support to feel empowered and integrated into the organization.
  • First time &  Diverse Trustees: We are especially keen on incorporating first time and  younger trustees as well as  individuals from diverse backgrounds to bring fresh perspectives to our charity.

What are we looking for?

We welcome Trustees with a range of experience and backgrounds to further diversify our Board but are particularly interested in expertise in Financial Management, Marketing and Communications, Fundraising/Income Generation, HR and Workforce Development, Change Management, NHS Commissing, Partnership Working Knowledge and AI & Emergent Technologies.

What difference will you make?

Our Trustees make strategic decisions and support the management team in improving the lives of older people living in our communities.  We look to change the way people age by providing information and support when needed and creating a discussion about later life.

Anything else...

We hold meetings once a month on a Wednesday morning, alternating between online and in person in Harrow
