About Resource Futures

Founded in 2006, we are an employee-owned, non-profit-distributing, independent environmental consultancy with a 30-year heritage in the resources and waste industry. Resource Futures has a vision to create a sustainable world and our mission to achieve this is to support people and organisations locally, nationally and globally in making the most of material resources. Our purpose is “making the world more sustainable through every project”. We will do this through delivering quality, impactful projects and supporting our people to develop and grow as professional individuals. We are not only passionate about what we do, but also, more importantly, about how we do it. We are proud to be a part of the global B Corp movement to use business as a force for good.

About the role

Resource Futures has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven individual to join our growing consultancy team. We are looking for a creative thinker who can bring excellent research and analytical skills to varied work across the sustainable resource efficiency sector. You will be working with our behaviour change team where you will contribute to developing, delivering and supporting a wide range of behavioural interventions across the UK.

You will be responsible for delivering consultancy support to clients across the public, private and third sector, contributing to quality projects that make a positive difference in making organisations and communities more sustainable. You can read more about our work and the type of projects we deliver here and here. You will also support the team in business development, supporting bid writing and identifying leads for future opportunities.

The position comes with a permanent contract for 37.5 hours per week, five weeks holiday per year, plus Bank Holidays. We are flexible on location for the right candidate, although have an office in Bristol and a team in Scotland with whom you will be working closely.

Benefits

We will offer you a generous ethical pension plan (the company will match up to 7% of your contribution). We also provide life insurance, an Employee Assistance Programme (including on-call GP access), cycle to work scheme, one volunteer day each year, subsidised professional membership, and an opportunity to become a company member. Plus, you will have access to our Consultative Group platform for employee voice. You will be joining a friendly, fun, professional, challenging, and supportive place to work, and a place that is focused on making a positive impact.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and delivering engagement opportunities, using innovative facilitation techniques and behavioural levers, to successfully engage stakeholders and improve sustainability practices.
  • Delivering high-quality consultancy work to agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Undertake contract management and ensure that projects are delivered to time, budget and quality; maintaining and nurturing good relationships with clients.
  • Writing and supporting successful bids and proposals.
  • Attending external and internal meetings as required.
  • Attend seminars and conferences to network and promote the company’s work in this area to existing and potential clients.
  • Keep informed of developments within relevant fields, particularly in relation to national campaigns, best practices and innovations in the field of pro-environmental behaviour change.
  • Complying with the company’s policies and processes.
  • All other duties commensurate with the role.
