What will you be doing?
As a Trustee you will have an important role as a board member in sustaining and expanding our counsellor services for adults, and through our online presence extending our outreach to more people in need of our services of low cost counselling and free crisis listening. You will work with the rest of the Board, and alongside our committed paid staff, to achieve the Charity's aims in a relaxed and supportive environment. Your knowledge of counselling ethics and procedures will guide the board in our policies and governance regarding the ethos and management of the charity's service.
You will join the current board of Chair, Treasurer, and five other trustees, and your knowledge of BACP or UKCP policy will be important to the Board and how we deliver the counselling service.
What are we looking for?
We welcome applications from all individuals with a genuine commitment to mental health and community support.
Experience in the voluntary sector, mental health services, or lived experience, is highly valued. Your professional status as a counsellor will be invaluable to the Board, who have diverse experience and working backgrounds, and also in working with the Service Manager who is also a trained counsellor. Your knowledge of counselling ethics and procedures will help us to adhere to the ethical policies of BACP.
What difference will you make?
As part of a committed team you will make a real difference, helping to shape the future of our Charity, to meet challenges and enable growth and development. Also to have a meaningful impact by bringing affordable counselling to those who need it in one of the most deprived boroughs in London. Your skills will help us follow correctly the policies of the professional associations for counsellors.
