Bookkeeper - Climate Action Charity

What will you be doing?

We're looking for a dedicated, UK-based individual to help us manage our finances, and support our mission to empower people to live and work more sustainably. 

As a volunteer bookkeeper you will help us maintain accurate financial records, implement good financial practices, and build a positive profile with potential donors. This is crucial in enabling us to pursue follow-up funding opportunities, including for the roll-out and expansion of our E-Save app. This innovative app provides practical advice to help people reduce their carbon emissions, household waste and water consumption, and cut household bills at the same time.

You will be joining a small Finance Team and able to share duties. 

What are we looking for?

Responsibilities:

• Recording financial transactions;
• Maintaining records;
• Paying & issuing invoices;
• VAT accounting and submission;
• PAYE management;
• Preparing management and annual accounts;
• Bank reconciliation;
• Tracking grant expenditure;
• Developing and operating payment authorisation procedures;
• Recording transactions;
• Preparing basic financial reports.

Experience:

• Good working knowledge of spreadsheets;
• Attention to detail and accuracy;
• Strong organisational skills;
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload;
• Knowledge of financial regulations and procedures (preferred but not essential);
• Knowledge of bookkeeping software.
