If you are a 3-5+ PQE M&A lawyer looking for an alternative career where you can use your experience and expertise, working for a dynamic, innovative, and truly global LegalTech company, we want to speak to you.

Opus 2 helps law firms build the connected digital practices of tomorrow, today. We enable legal teams to deliver innovative, solution-based services to promote and rapidly scale best practice, and to cost-effectively tailor legal offering to specific client needs. Our solutions enable legal teams to focus on delivering the best possible outcomes and client experience. Opus 2 brings legal teams, clients and third parties together, so law firms can focus on what matters most – creating value, differentiation and driving client engagement.

Opus 2 is seeking an innovative Subject Matter Expert for our global end to end M&A transaction management solutions working as part of the Opus 2 Product Management division.

The Subject Matter Expert will work closely with our global client base and internal specialists to help shape and continue to evolve our transactions related solutions, applying their expert knowledge to resolve complex challenges. To ensure success, the Subject Matter Expert should have worked as an M&A lawyer in a law firm and possess and demonstrate detailed knowledge of the M&A process end to end. The successful candidate will have an interest in how technology can transform the efficiency and effectiveness of corporate and other legal practice area teams.

What you will be doing

  • Lead efforts in defining the vision and solution capabilities for Opus 2’s transactions related solutions.
  • Engage actively with our global law firm clients, at a strategic level, in order to understand their evolving M&A transaction lifecycle requirements: including areas such as virtual data rooms, deal checklists, due diligence, verification, closing books, contract review and negotiation and contract playbooks.
  • Lead discussions with senior Opus 2 management around opportunities, business initiatives and projects and how Opus 2 can provide innovative solutions in these areas.
  • Consult with and advise product experts around product enhancements that support Opus 2’s business opportunities.
  • Provide support, expert knowledge and articulate the value of Opus 2 solutions to both technical and commercial teams around the world.
  • Using your domain knowledge to support marketing initiatives and communicate how Opus 2 can transform Legal Practice areas at industry events.

What we are looking for in you

  • Have detailed knowledge and experience of the end to end M&A transaction process from a law firm perspective and an appetite to increase your knowledge of other practice areas and/or different jurisdictions.
  • Be willing to explore new ideas, concepts and think outside the box in finding innovative and creative ways of solving common challenges by exploiting the capabilities within the Opus 2 technology platform.
  • See both the detail of specific problem areas and also understand and articulate the wider strategic picture and Opus 2 vision.
  • Have a natural ability to discuss even the most complicated concepts in a clear, concise, and understandable way.
  • Be a self-starter with a clear understanding of the value of working collaboratively and wish to freely pass on knowledge and experience to different teams around the world.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years+ of experience working on M&A transactions teams within law firms.
  • Detailed knowledge of the full mergers and acquisitions lifecycle end to end.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
