We are looking to appoint a Product Manager to own the vision, roadmap and delivery of Greater Change’s platform. The Product Manager will make sure our product works for the people we support, the frontline staff who use it every day, and the local authorities and other partners who fund it.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has shipped digital products with an engineering team and is comfortable running their own user research, writing requirements and getting into the data. You will work closely with the Business Development Director to shape what we offer partners, and with delivery teams to make sure every new partnership launches smoothly.

What success looks like in the first 12 months

● A product strategy and 12-month roadmap, tied to Greater Change’s impact and income goals.

● Regular research involving the people we support, frontline staff and partners, feeding directly into what gets built.

● A clear set of product metrics, covering adoption, usage and outcomes, reported to the leadership team.

● New local authority partners onboarded onto the platform quickly and with minimal custom work.

● A predictable delivery cadence, with the team shipping improvements users notice and value.

Main Responsibilities Product strategy and roadmap

● Own the product vision, strategy and roadmap, balancing the needs of the people we support, frontline users, partners and the organisation.

● Prioritise ruthlessly, making clear trade-offs and explaining them to colleagues and partners.

● Define and track product metrics, including adoption, usage, outcomes and partner satisfaction, and use them to guide decisions.

Discovery and user research

● Lead regular research with people with lived experience, frontline staff, local authority officers and commissioners.

● Turn research and data into clear problem statements and product opportunities.

● Ensure research with people facing hardship is carried out safely, respectfully and with informed consent.

Delivery

● Write clear requirements and user stories, and work day to day with developers and designers to ship them.

● Run the product delivery process, including backlog management, sprint planning, testing and releases.

● Make sure the product meets data protection, security, safeguarding and accessibility standards, including GDPR and the requirements of public sector partners.

● Produce release notes, user guides and training materials so changes land well.

Working across Greater Change

● Work with the Business Development Director on how the product is packaged and priced, and support partner pitches, demos and scoping.

● Work with delivery and operations teams to onboard new partners and keep the platform running smoothly for existing ones.

● Provide the product data that underpins impact reporting to partners, funders and the Board.

Preferred Experience

● Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner on a live digital product, ideally B2B or serving the public sector.

● A track record of shipping products end to end with an engineering team, using agile ways of working.

● Hands-on experience running user research and usability testing.

● Comfortable working with data to measure product performance; experience with analytics tools

or SQL is desirable.

● Understanding of GDPR and of handling sensitive personal data.

● Experience in GovTech, local government digital services, payments or financial products is desirable.

● Experience designing for vulnerable users, or of trauma-informed approaches, is desirable.

● Experience working in the charity, social enterprise or social impact sector is desirable.
