What will you be doing?
You’ll lead Vemoye’s outreach and relationship-building with education organisations across Nigeria, helping us identify organisations with the potential to reach more young people and understand what support they need to scale.
Working closely with our founder and Programme Manager, you’ll turn those conversations into well-defined opportunities that can be supported through Vemoye’s network of experienced professionals.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Identify organisations: Research STEM and entrepreneurship education organisations across Nigeria using sources such as the CAC register, online research, recommendations and existing networks.
- Build our pipeline: Create and maintain a database of potential partner organisations and assess their suitability against Vemoye’s criteria.
- Lead outreach: Introduce organisations to Vemoye, arrange conversations and build strong, trusted relationships with founders and programme leaders.
- Understand their needs: Learn how each organisation operates, how many young people they currently reach, their ambitions for growth and the barriers preventing them from scaling.
- Identify opportunities: Work with the Programme Manager to translate organisational challenges into clearly defined projects that Vemoye’s professional network can support through pro bono consulting.
- Onboard organisations: Guide suitable organisations through registration and onboarding, ensuring we have the information required to support them effectively.
- Capture insights: Track common challenges and needs across organisations, helping Vemoye build a stronger understanding of Nigeria’s STEM and entrepreneurship education ecosystem.
You won’t be expected to design Vemoye’s overall programme. Instead, you’ll be responsible for bringing that programme to life by finding the right organisations, understanding their needs and developing the relationships that make meaningful support possible.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, is naturally curious about how organisations work and is confident speaking with founders and leaders.
You’ll often be the first person from Vemoye that an organisation speaks to, so you should be warm, professional and genuinely interested in understanding their work and ambitions.
The most important qualities are:
- A strong relationship builder: You can establish trust, ask thoughtful questions and maintain professional relationships over time.
- Proactive and confident: You’re comfortable reaching out to organisations, introducing Vemoye and starting new conversations.
- Curious and analytical: You enjoy understanding how an organisation works and identifying the challenges that may be limiting its growth.
- Highly organised: You can manage a pipeline of organisations, conversations, follow-ups and onboarding activity.
- A strong communicator: You can communicate clearly in writing and conversation and confidently represent Vemoye externally.
- Collaborative: You can work closely with our founder and Programme Manager to turn organisational needs into practical support opportunities.
Experience in partnerships, business development, stakeholder engagement, account management, outreach, charity development, consulting or relationship management would be particularly valuable.
Knowledge of Nigeria’s education, nonprofit, STEM or entrepreneurship sectors would be helpful, but isn’t essential. More important is your ability to find promising organisations, build genuine relationships and understand what they need to grow.
This role would suit someone who wants to use their professional skills to help strengthen organisations creating opportunities for young people across Nigeria.
What difference will you make?
This role sits at the heart of Vemoye’s mission to help education organisations in Nigeria scale their impact.
We focus on STEM and entrepreneurship organisations that are already helping young Nigerians develop practical skills and become problem-solvers. Many are doing exceptional work but face barriers that limit how many young people they can reach.
Your role will help us find those organisations, understand those barriers and connect them with the support they need to grow.
By building trusted relationships with founders and programme leaders, you’ll help us move beyond assumptions about what organisations need and understand their real challenges — whether that is expertise, systems, resources, funding readiness or another capacity constraint.
Those insights will allow Vemoye to create targeted opportunities for experienced professionals within our Diaspora Network to contribute their expertise through pro bono consulting.
Your work will also help us build a clearer picture of Nigeria’s wider STEM and entrepreneurship education ecosystem. As we speak to more organisations, we’ll be able to identify recurring challenges, gaps and opportunities, helping shape how Vemoye supports the sector in the future.
Ultimately, you’ll help us find promising organisations, understand what is holding them back and bring together the people and support that can help them reach more young people.
