The Small Beer Brewery is the world’s first dedicated to the production of small beer 0.5 – 2.8% ABV, made up of a small but dynamic team who believe in exceptional quality of product and innovation. We are currently looking for a Head of Marketing who’ll lead on all marketing activities from social media and digital campaigns to advertising and creative projects, co-ordinating strategically through the Events, On and Off-Trade, International and E-commerce marketplaces. The Head of Marketing will sit within the Senior Leadership Team and responsibilities will include developing plans to help establish our brand, allocating resources to different projects and setting short and long-term goals.

Key responsibilities include
Brand
- Content Strategy - work with the team to plan monthly activity across all brand channels
- Newsletter copy - write all newsletter copy set out in content strategy & support with social media captions where required
- Social media ideation - support the team with developing visual content e.g. influencer partnerships / campaign themes / key messaging
- Brand Bible - develop and update company Brand Bible document with key messaging and values
- Implementation - support the team on referring to the Brand Bible to inform their work
- Demonstration - bring key elements of the brand into the day-to-day of Small Beer
- Visibility - maintain consistent TOV & messaging across all channels
- SEO optimisation strategy & content - work with eCommerce to maximise organic search performance
- LinkedIn - manage all company posts
- Google My Business - make updates on company page and respond to reviews
- Big Thinking - demonstrate big thinking ethos of the business
- Big Thinking reports - research and write annual reports on wider industry trends and macro consumer behaviour
- Big Thoughts - collate and share monthly sustainability / industry updates with the Small Beer team
- Competitor analysis - undertake regular category and competitor audits
Partnerships
- Brand Partnerships - reach new audiences by working with like-minded brands
- Newsletter features - brand storytelling mechanics to recruit new subscribers
- Social giveaways - partner prizes to drive CTA
- Off-trade bundle deals - capitalise on JBP to grow visibility
- Activations - drive trial at relevant touch points
- On / Off-trade - support the sales team with key activities
- Occasions - identify key opportunities and messaging to ensure cut-through throughout the year
- POS / copy - support with outputs needed for retailer media spend
- Environmental Partners - serve as Small Beer's representative with key relationships
- B Corp - proactively participate in the B Corp community, building relationships with other brands and lead on plans for each year's B Corp Month
- 1% For the Planet - act as point of contact for our 1% For the Planet partner and maintain payment in kind side of our annual donation (design time / water saving expertise / stock donation)
PR
- Strategy - lead on the quarterly PR strategy on a project basis
- Agencies - maintain a shortlist roster of partner agencies, build relationships and keep in touch
- Briefing - brief & manage all PR projects
- Dream 100 - consistently build advocates of Small Beer over time
- Planning - identify relevant occasions to reach out to database
- Targeting - continue to develop contacts to be included in each outreach
- Conversion - follow up mailouts to solidify key relationships e.g. brand partnerships / collaborations
- Awards - lead on all entry submissions
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Work experience as Head of Marketing or VP Marketing, preferably within food & beverage/FMCG
- Actively worked growing a brand online, bringing ‘subscription model’ expertise.
- Experience running successful marketing campaigns
- Solid knowledge of web analytics and Google Adwords
- Leadership skills with the ability to set and prioritise goals
- Commercial literacy and an analytical mind
- BSc or MSc in Marketing or relevant field
