Role Summary

  • Develop and implement team strategy in conjunction with the Business Action Lead and Executive Lead.
  • Lead the Global Commitment programme and oversee the delivery of the 2030 Plastics Agenda report.
  • Manage the Pioneering Projects programme and facilitate transformative collaboration projects.
  • Oversee the organisation of the bi-annual Plastics Workshop programme.

Role Requirements

  • Significant experience in leading multi-stakeholder initiatives within the plastic packaging industry or circular economy.
  • A background in corporate disclosure and at least 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong project management, strategic thinking, relationship management and communication skills.
  • Experience in line management is desirable.

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing the concept of a circular economy to foster a sustainable future for business, society, and the natural environment. As a Programme Manager in our Plastics Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving our vision of a circular economy where plastic packaging never becomes waste.

The Role: You will collaborate closely with the Business Action Lead and Executive Lead to develop and implement the team's strategy. Your responsibilities will include leading the Global Commitment programme and overseeing the delivery of the 2030 Plastics Agenda report. Additionally, you will manage the Pioneering Projects programme, facilitating pre-competitive collaboration projects that aim to transform discussions into tangible impacts on plastic packaging. You will also oversee the bi-annual Plastics Workshop programme, which hosts over 100 attendees.

Job Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate significant experience in leading multi-stakeholder initiatives within the plastic packaging industry or circular economy, with a strong background in corporate disclosure. You should have at least 7 years of relevant work experience in sectors such as business, economics, or NGOs. Essential skills include project management, strategic thinking, relationship management, and effective communication, including public speaking. Experience in line management is desirable.

Benefits: We offer a competitive salary package of approximately £59,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a generous holiday allowance, enhanced pension options, a private health scheme after 6 months, and a wellbeing programme. Both our Cowes office and remote working arrangements within the UK are considered for this position.
