The British Library is one of the world’s greatest research libraries and one of our core purposes is to help businesses to innovate and grow. The Business & IP Centre (BIPC), based in the Library’s flagship building in St Pancras, was founded in 2006 to support people from all walks of life to start and grow successful businesses by giving them access to our collections, knowledge and networks. Following a successful pilot project called 'Start-ups in London Libraries', we are seeking a highly-motivated individual to work with up to ten London boroughs and manage a permanent ‘hub and spoke’ business support service delivered through public libraries; this involves setting up and onboarding a network of BIPC Locals across London to reach entrepreneurs in the heart of their communities.

You must have a keen interest in helping entrepreneurs and small business owners – from diverse backgrounds - to achieve their ambitions. You must also have ‘hands on’ experience of managing publicly-funded projects and a strategic, but practical approach. You will join a dynamic team and work very closely with colleagues across the Library and across London boroughs to ensure that we deliver an integrated and high quality programme, which meets or exceeds our targets. You will also have line management responsibility for a Coordinator and Administrator, plus oversee other roles, as well as working closely with the boroughs/library authorities who wish to join the permanent service.

Post must be based in London to visit borough libraries.
