The organisation
ImpactEd is an award-winning social enterprise that exists to help evaluate, understand and improve impact in education.
In our education system, we invest huge amounts of time, money and energy in different programmes and interventions to improve outcomes for pupils. Yet far too often, we don’t know what is working – and what isn’t. We exist to address this evaluation deficit, helping schools and those working with them to better understand what is working to make a difference to the lives of young people. We do this through a combination of hands-on partnership, training and consultancy, and our digital platform which makes monitoring and evaluation quicker, easier and more effective.
The opportunity
School partnerships are integral to ImpactEd’s mission. We work directly with over 250 schools as school partners, equipping them to better understand their educational impact, and reach a further 400 more indirectly through evaluations with partner education organisations. As we embark on our new strategy, we are looking to recruit a new, Director-level position to lead this next stage of our work.
The Director of School Partnerships will have end-to-end ownership of our offer to schools. You will help ensure that we provide the right services in the right way, and guide the development of our digital platform to meet school needs. You will have primary responsibility for designing and delivering our growth strategy, expanding our reach to schools by two to three times over the next four years. You will also manage and work closely with a departmental Head to quality assure delivery, model excellence in relationship management and oversee and develop our school partnerships team.
This is a senior leadership role within the organisation, reporting to our Managing Director and Board. For someone with a deep understanding of the education sector, a good commercial sense and ambition to take on strategic ownership of our school product, this is a unique opportunity to shape the leadership and direction of a fast-growing social enterprise.
About you
We are open to a range of backgrounds for the role. The most important criteria is that we are looking for someone with a clear vision for how social enterprises can partner effectively with schools. You will need to be commercially aware and bring experience in achieving growth ambitions, balancing this with a deep commitment to our social purpose and enthusiasm for how evidence can be used to help schools make better decisions. You will also need a good product sense and an appetite for testing, developing and iterating services and programmes.
Why us?
You would be joining a dynamic social enterprise with opportunities for significant development and progression in line with organisational growth. We are committed to:
- Agile and flexible working: responsive management, flexible hours, work from home options
- Personal excellence: we invest significantly in professional development, including an external mentor for every staff member, an individual CPD budget, and formal and informal training and support
- Mental health and wellbeing: access to health and wellbeing advice and free therapist support
For further details about the role, see the full job pack attached and additional details provided on the application link. The application deadline is Sunday 15th May at 6pm.
