About Pivot
Pivot is an award-winning Social Enterprise which empowers people experiencing homelessness to pivot their lives through making and enterprise. We train people living in hostels to design, make, market and sell ethical jewellery, which we then sell to fund more creative programmes.
Our model is aimed at bringing part-time, flexible and meaningful employment for those who find it more difficult to access it whilst providing coaching and financial support.
Pivot is a relatively new Social Enterprise which has gained significant traction in a short period of time. As such, we are expanding quickly and you can expect to be working in an exciting, start-up environment.
Job Description
We are on the search for a Sales, Marketing and Brand Lead. Could this be you?
Pivot has four main income streams: sale of jewellery direct to consumer through our website and at pop-ups; sale of jewellery through wholesale streams; sales of workshops to members of the general public; and sale of programmes in hostels. The model is set up so sales can help fund the running of our programmes as well as create more employment opportunities for our graduates, and therefore create a self-funded social enterprise.
As we grow over the next year, we want to consolidate our growth by making sure we have the infrastructure to reach rising demand.
Your role will be multifaceted, but primarily you will lead on sales, overseeing the consolidation of our branding and mission, website rebuild, and brand growth through paid-for advertising.
- Sales: you’ll work to understand where Pivot has got to so far, and create a plan over the next 6 months to grow and consolidate B-B and B-C revenue streams. You’ll work to build on existing relationships with retailers, as well as creating new ones.
- Brand and website: we plan to launch a new website in September 2022, with a developer already engaged to start the works. It will be your first project with us, working closely with the team, makers and wider stakeholders to shape the brief, work with the developer, and help deliver a highly functional and attractive website.
- Marketing: to date, most of our marketing has been done organically. Having seen excellent results in paid-for-advertising last Christmas, this year we want to put a substantial budget behind sales. We want someone who will be comfortable running both organic social content and an accompanying paid advertising campaign across both the Meta ad suite and Google Search and Display networks. It’ll be your job to create and implement a successful marketing strategy.
About you
As we are a small Social Enterprise, you will be working in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment where everyday can be a little different - meaning that flexibility and agility are key.
We are looking for someone who aligns with Pivot’s ethics in creating a more equitable and fair world through the redistribution of accessible work opportunities and understands Pivot’s social responsibility.
You will be someone who enjoys learning, improving and building new processes. You’ll be an effective communicator with a positive “can do” attitude, who is confident working both independently and as part of a team.
We want you to be able to think critically about how to do things as effectively as possible and are not afraid to challenge where they see things could be improved.
