About Voodoo Chicken & Spice
Since 2017 we have brought the local community in Waterloo together face-to-face with our New Orleans inspired street food, raised money for local community hubs through our annual Day of Giving, and worked to support London’s homeless community.
We’re now looking for a Street Food Manager at the Southbank Centre every Friday, Saturday, Sunday plus bank holiday Mondays to help us fulfil this famous location’s potential and advance our mission of building strong local community in the areas we serve.
What We’re Looking for in our Street Food Manager
If you have a mix of the following skills and attributes, you might be just who we’re looking for:
- Driving license - preferably with familiarity driving in London
- Cool headed - you’re calm under pressure and composed when the centre of attention
- A team spirit - you instinctively put the team first; our people are our most important asset
- Passionate about people - you love meeting new people and charming them with care, fun and recognition
- Caring communicator - you’re clear and direct. Not afraid to call things out whilst being honest, decent and straightforward.
- Experience in food/hospitality is ideal, but not a requirement as your soft skills are more important
What Success Looks Like in this Role
We’ll know you’re nailing it when we see:
- You serve repeat guests and remember their names, and orders!
- You have a motivated and tight knit team who know what’s expected of them
- A clean and hygienic working environment
- Consistent product quality and service that meets high standards
- You take the initiative to develop existing revenue channels and explore new ones to achieve above average sales
- You take the opportunity to prove yourself and contribute to our growing business; wanting to progress to Events Manager or General Manager
What Your Day to Day Will Look Like
- Ensure that the stand is fully stocked for budgeted sales
- Lead a team of 2-3 team members to build and serve products perfectly every time
- Solve practical problems on your feet
- Talk with guests and have a positive influence on their day
- Set up and pack down the stand (this involves heavy lifting), and transport it to and from our HQ in New Malden, at the start and end of the weekend
