Job Brief

We are looking for a Lead QA engineer to join our team, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will be working with a high calibre team to continuously develop new products/features.

What you'll do

As a key member of the QA team, reporting into the Senior QA lead, you’ll help ensure the delivery and quality of products. Managing, coaching and mentoring QA teams. Supporting the ongoing development of the delivery methodology to ensure that QA services are delivered in a repeatable, dependable and best-practice approach. Work with Product and other stakeholders to design and implement testing strategies for complex features. Project planning incl. QA resource allocation. Support the organisational shift towards continuous testing delivery (including implementing automated testing frameworks). Configuration and set-up of test tools including the integration of automated regression suites with CI/CD pipelines. Analyzing live issues with a focus on continuous improvement. Maintain documentation related to the QA stream. Collaborate across the wider team, predominantly with the development, product & UX teams to ensure work items are progressed. Hiring and career development for QA team incl. Participating in interviews and performance reviews. Reporting on quality indicators, setting high standards and continually improving how we do things. Running workshops, retrospectives, focus groups and QA team meetings. Act as an escalation point for QA issues for multiple programmes of work. Staying abreast of and (where necessary) applying the latest emerging technologies.

Comfortable working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, and work well with developers to help build high-quality products with suitable testing at all levels Have an analytical and critical thinking mindset - a strong problem solver who embraces new challenges. Proven experience of designing and implementing complete test plans or frameworks from scratch. Strong organisation and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail. Someone who is interested in fintech, and excited to change how people in the UK save and invest. Passionate about all things mobile and apps. Pragmatic when raising bugs and have a good understanding of risk/dependencies and how to balance these. Understand the full E2E picture and makes sure that it is considered in the team’s work, ensuring that appropriate regression, smoke and sanity testing takes place. Keen to help others in your team to develop in their roles.

Experience and Skills

8+ years QA experience with a broad knowledge of best practices is essential. 3+ years line management/coaching experience. Proven track record of delivering programmes with complex dependencies. Excellent stakeholder management skills. Demonstrable experience implementing test frameworks on more than one tech stack. Deep understanding of SQL, jQuery, XML, REST/JSON. Deep understanding of Mobile, API & database testing technologies and frameworks. Experience in test data design and implementation strategies. Experience with API test framework design for legacy back-end systems. Experience of Agile Scrum, Kanban & behaviour-driven development (BDD). Experience with automated testing incl. compatibility & performance testing an advantage.
