Role Summary: As a Data Platform Lead Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our mission, shaping and piloting Kew's enterprise data platform. Your contributions will touch several realms, from scientific research to visitor experiences and more. Your responsibilities include setting strategic direction for data engineering, governing, and assuring platform performance and road map implementation, as well as guiding teams and partners in building secure, reliable and cost-effective data pipelines. This position offers optional regular home working.
Role Requirements: Candidates should have extensive experience in data platform management, a solid understanding of Azure-based technologies, and a history of leading data engineering teams.

The role: As a Data Platform Lead Engineer, you will shape and lead Kew's enterprise data platform. This high-impact role involves setting the strategic direction for how data is engineered, governed, and delivered across the organisation, covering areas from scientific research to visitor experience to finance and estates. You will be accountable for platform performance, roadmap delivery, standards, and assurance, ensuring our services are secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective. Additionally, you will guide teams and partners in building governed data pipelines and products using our Azure-based stack. This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.
