The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking an Industrial Cost Auditor to join the Industrial Audit Services Office within the Directorate of Commercialisation, Industry and Competitiveness. This role is crucial as ESA invests a significant portion of its budget in contracts with the space industry, aiming to ensure a proper return for Member States and value for money.
The role: As an Industrial Cost Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting general industrial cost analyses and auditing activities to support the ESA procurement process. Your duties will include auditing, analysis, and negotiation of industrial hourly labour rates and overheads, auditing direct expenditure on contracts, financial viability audits, nationality audits, and audits supporting the verification of geo-return data. You will also verify companies' cost accounting systems for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and ESA rules.
Job requirements: Applicants must hold a master's degree in business administration, corporate finance and accounting, auditing, or economics. A minimum of three years' cumulative experience in auditing activities is required. You should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective negotiation and influencing abilities, and the willingness and flexibility to travel frequently.
