The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Copernicus Space Segment Technical Coordinator to join our Earth Observation Programmes Directorate at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This role is pivotal in ensuring the coherent implementation of common technical solutions across Copernicus Expansion and Sentinel Next Generation missions.
The role: As a Copernicus Space Segment Technical Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the assessment and implementation of common technical topics across various project teams. This includes supporting the Sentinel project teams in harmonizing procurement, design, development, and verification approaches, as well as overseeing the spacecraft assembly, integration, validation, and launch campaigns. You will act as a technical officer for the implementation of launch service contracts and represent the Projects Department in adopting new technologies and engineering methodologies.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience in spacecraft and/or payload design, development, and testing, as well as experience in managing industrial activities and participating in reviews. A master's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline is required. Strong leadership capabilities, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams are essential.
